..A "park ranger" approached him and informed him his boat registration number was not properly displayed, [W. Mitt Romney] said. The ranger ordered him to keep the boat out of the water or receive a ticket.

Romney said he returned to his wife, who urged him to pay the ticket. As he attempted to launch the boat, Romney said the ranger informed him he was under arrest and placed him in handcuffs.

"The ranger came over and was very upset," Romney said. "I expected him to give me a ticket. He was not happy I launched my boat." Romney said he was taken in his bathing suit to the Natick police station, and released on his own recognizance...

After he was told not to. Read the story.

He was told he would get a ticket, not arrested. I read the story. Do you do everything someone tells you because they have a certain outfit on? Some cops are jerks. The less real authority they have, the worse they usually are. A park ranger is about as bad as a mall rent-a-cop.

Repeat. That is Mittens story not the Ranger’s. So I’ll have to spell it out for you. The way Mittens tells it is the way any lying weasel Harvard lawyer would tell it to try to make it look like the Ranger gave him a choice, as if Mittens was told by the Ranger he could launch and use his unregistered boat if Mittens would pay a ticket. Preposterous. Shall I go on?

It wasn’t unregistered, the registration was improperly displayed. You can “go on” if you like, but I would rather not waste either of our time.

“It wasn’t unregistered, the registration was improperly displayed.”

So Mittens says. The more I look at what Mittens says, the less believable it is that anything happened in that incident the way he tells it. So Mittens goes back to his wife and she tells him what to do about the situation? if that part of his story is true, it just makes Mitt look worse.

Good for him! I’d have probably done the same thing. Sometimes these “Mr. Ranger” types get nutty

I think there are enough politically viable reasons to dislike Romney. This incident is a non issue to most people. Nail him on flip-flopping, socialized health care, green energy, and the homo crap.

I hate all the nanny state garbage. The ranger should have something more important to do, or the park has too many rangers.
