Very interesting. The open carry movement makes a single appearance at the Occupy Atlanta, and the ultra liberal democrat mayor shuts the protest down.

honestly, it strikes me as a good thing to wrap up occupy atlanta, too many crazies and drugs, and if peeps are now walking around with guns, potential for real trouble is present.
they should outlaw blue tarps in public places, game over for OWS.

The second they see anything considered “Right Wing”.. The government is shutting it down. However, if it’s left wing, pro Obama, anti-business... stay as long as you want.

Just like Lexington and Concord.
The point is right and left are fed up.

the last straw was a man walking around Woodruff Park Tuesday afternoon carrying an assault rifle.Just like all those Tea Party rallies where people were walking around openly with firearms. Oh, wait...

The guy’s principles are fine, but I think he was a bit naieve regarding how this could play out.
I can’t see any good coming from it.
This could link 2A proponents with the nutcases at the Occupy movements.
Or, they can be portrayed as “terrorizing a peaceful protest”,
or.... Pick it.

Methinks many forget where this OA kind of political rhetoric goes, and the unnamed RKBA guy reminded everyone. Better the reminder appear early, rather than wait until the OA types go Stalin en masse.

The majority of the people who vote in Atlanta must like what Kasim is doing since they ELECTED him to office.
...elections have consequences....

I heard the OATL folks want to start a recall effort because of this.
Good luck with that!

At least circa 1932 "go occupy yourself" folks seem to take baths and dress well LOL.

Yes, and unlike the “Occupy” group, the 1932 incident was composed of US Army WW1 veterans who fought for the United States of America.
The Bonus Army: it’s been debated that using the Army to forcibly evict military veterans was one of the factors contributing to Hoover’s defeat. Even Dwight D. Eisenhower (an aide to MacArthur at the time) was against it. I believe Ike later said, “I told that dumb SOB (MacArthur) not to go down there; I told him it was no place for the Chief of Staff.”
Growing up, I recall that was one of many gripes my dad had against MacArthur (my dad was a WW2 USN carrier pilot); that, and he viewed MacArthur as a “prima donna” and a “ham.”
