New York Democratic Rep. Charlie Rangel told The Daily Caller that gridlock in Congress has made it necessary for President Barack Obama to unilaterally implement mortgage refinancing and student loan programs without congressional authorization.
TheDC asked Rangel if he thinks there are other areas where Obama should bypass Congress.
I do, but I dont want it to be interpreted that I welcome the executive branch using their powers instead of having the legislative branch do it. Its necessary now because its a gridlock between the president and the United States. I hope that is just so very, very unusual, Rangel told TheDC after a rally on Capitol Hill Wednesday.

Funny, I didn’t hear him say that when Bush was president.
IMPEACH! Probably can’t in this case.
There is a reason there are 3 branches of government Charlie and it is set up that way precisely so we WILL have gridlock and NOT have one person deciding whats best for America.
If you’re accepting that we now have a dictator then you need to resign your position too.
Rangle is the baseline from which cretinism is measured.
The Obamaloon manages to get a couple of millimeters above that baseline.
On a good day.
I expect if he loses the election next year, he will try to nullify the results and declare himself dictator. You may think it won't happen, but these executive orders are a foretaste of what will come.
So if a President can’t get his way, he just goes dictator. Somehow I don’t think our system is supposed to work that way.
“Its necessary now because its a gridlock between the president and the United States.”
...freudian slip or just the plain truth?
Aw, Charlie, why don’t you just come out and admit that you what Mr. Dunham as dictator for life.
Yeah, that was a good one! “...Between the president and the United States,” and we know which one Rangel wants to win.
Why isn’t Charlie in jail ?
“I expect if he loses the election next year, he will try to nullify the results and declare himself dictator. You may think it won’t happen, but these executive orders are a foretaste of what will come.”
If that happens, then I hope at least one million armed patriots visit DC on business.
