A misspelled sign near an elementary school is raising eyebrows and leading to questions from parents.
A Local 10 viewer sent us the photo of this sign, which spells "scohol" at the corner of 50th Street and Pine Island Road in Lauderhill. He noticed it while picking up his son from school Thursday.
"Glad he didn't see it," said Christopher Robinson. Robinson thinks it's a bad lesson for all kids. "You know, especially after helping him with spelling and his homework," he said.

I now belong to the ADA (Dads Against Dislexia).
I went to the high school where we used to live during the 2000 general election and they had a display of posters the SENIORS had made about the election. There were multiple blatant grammatical errors and misspellings in almost every one. It was shameful. This was a really affluent area with a brand new multi-million dollar school building.
It’s close enough for govermint work.
A Celebration Of Diversity
Publik skuuls only use Spanglish and hip-hop.
I worked for the State of Alaska DOT and we had a sign come in from the vendor that said: “BIEK XING”.

The Mystery Of The Misspelled Sign
On Monday, an active shooting drill was held at Powell High School.
Law enforcement and emergency responders simulated a mock shooting at the new school. As you might guess, the building was closed to the public while the drill was conducted.
The following sign was posted on a couple of the doors. The author will probably remain a mystery.
Sources in the agencies and organizations involved all denied involvement in or knowledge of the creation of the sign. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure the statute of limitations for gross negligence in writing has already passed. But for the record, if anyone is charged, it'll be an inditement indictment.
That's the problem right there. EVERYBODY knows that it now takes
a cent-million dollar school building.
Look at the Taj Mahals in LA and Barney Frank's power base of Newton, MA.
Remember Oakland with "Ebonics"? That was the result of the Feds
giving out grants to districts with non-English speakers.
The bureaucrats invented that to get more money from the taxpayers.
And yet, those are the very people that disdain supply-side economics...
good one!
an interesting version of “business”—never have i seen that one.
scohol - sounds like a brand of vodka
###
Or a brand of chewing tobacco.
That's the term I was struggling to come up with - loss of sleep due to 11th inning win for the Cards.
Of course, Ebonics and I remember all of the MSM discussion about how the rest of us shouldn't be discriminating toward minorities and insist on standard English.
I even heard lots of "we bes" around and even now notice various terms and phrases that came out of the embrace of Ebonics, especially by the media (do-rags, etc.)
Ebonics is basically a combination of uneducated and gang slang.
just sayin'
Acohol. Scohol. Same thing.
This was the week before we started home schooling.
Some idoit can’t spill.
