Al-Qaida plants its flag — literally — in Libya (Obama gives Al-Qaeda a big gift, a whole country)
daily caller ^ | 10/29/2011 | staff

Posted on 10/29/2011 6:30:41 AM PDT by tobyhill

If there were questions about al-Qaida’s role in post-Gadhafi Libya, VICE reporter Sherif Elhelwa provides some answers in a new story with eyewitness descriptions.

Al-Qaida flags, Elhelwa reports, are popping up around Benghazi. At the city courthouse, which played a prominent role in the Libyan revolution, residents are flying the late terrorist’s Osama bin Laden’s colors.

Similarly, Elhelwa recounts a regular evening sight: “Islamists driving brand-new SUVs and waving the black al Qaeda flag drive the city’s streets at night.”

Armed guards walk the streets, he reports, inspiring fear. Friendly civilians hurriedly warn Elhelwa that he is being watched by the Islamists. “I recommend that you leave now,” he is told.

Iran 2.0.

0bama is turning the entire Middle East over to the Islamists.

You would think that after all the pain America has been thru they would snap in a fit of anger that his decisions have led to this?

I seriously doubt any predators will take out the oil facilities, as long as Al Quaeda keeps it a joint venture between themselves and BP. The radicals now control another oil producing state, just like Iran...which doesn’t seem to get a lot of predator traffic either.

And how, pray tell, does this differ from Gadhafi’s Libya? There was never a terrorist group he didn't like and fund.

I’ve covered items like this for the last three years, so I will not repeat myself again!!! You folks and the American people just don’t get it!!! You sit there shooting your yaps off about POTUS Obama, and.....then you do nothing concrete about it. Well, IMHO, POTUS Obama is the sworn enemy of the USA. He is an African Muslim, aligned with the his “Muslim Brotherhood” brethen. Whether it is Obama’s destroying the USA economy or turning the entire Middle East over to his radical Muslim terrorist brothers, Obama is out to destroy america and all she stand for. If you folks cannot fathom these facts, then you deserve every horror and pain coming your way!!! if you were really ticked off about Obama, you would be calling on the Democrat Party to force Obama to resign immediately. And, yes.....I am ticked off big time that about a dozen of our fine military folks made the supreme sacrifice in Afghanistan, ambushed by Obama’s Muslim Taliban!!! We have lost the Middle East, we have lost Iraq and now Obama has us losing Afghanistan. Sad, it really is sad, that so many Americans cannot see the forest for the trees. Go figure!!! Shame on you, America!!! You are like little lambs, being led to the slaughter!!!

“If there were questions about al-Qaida’s role in post-Gadhafi Libya...”

The more pertinent question is precisly this: Is Obama on the al-Qaeda payroll, or is he simply their unwitting - and witless - tool?

First of all pal, who do you mean by ‘’we’’? And where are you from? Myself and none of the Freepers here voted for this piece of shit and if you aren’t a citizen of my country then neither did you. What are we going to do about Obama? Vote him out of office in 2012. I knew what this Marxist piece of crap was when he first appeared on the scene so go rant somewhere else.

So did a lot of people, my FRiend. That is why we, as pepugnant as it was, voted for McCain. most od us told ourselves we were voting for Palin but Mc Cain's name was the main one. Unfortunately, they were more parasites voting on that day than Americans. I have said and still say that not the first American voted for the sob.

George W. talked language that al Qaeda understood: strike two of our buildings and we take out two governments friendly to you. Hit us and we retaliate at 1000x the force. Obama, on the other hand, greases the skids to hand over countries to them. The sad thing is that al Qaeda would have traded Afghanistan for Libya as a base of operations any day of the week.

“Obama didn't give Al-Queda a country. Predators can fly over Libya, too”

And Predators are flying all over Afghanistan, Pakistan and now Yemen, pretty easy pickings when it's some mud hut, or cars in the middle of nowhere. When you start dropping Hell Fire missiles in populated Libyan cities you will lose the hearts and minds with the residual damage.

I predict come next Summer Al Qaeda / Muslim Brotherhood taking over the Middle East will be a major anchor around Bambi's neck, provided the Repub candidate is smart enough to take it on.

Oh, we get it all right. But, the media that most of the American people watch or read won't say anything negative about the TOTUS. So they are in la la land. Just look at the OWS crowd, they wouldn't know the truth if it bit them.

When I talk to people about Obama, their eyes glaze over, literally.

More and more people are aware of the danger we are in, but it's taking too long. These last three years have been pure torture for patriots.

And, in my case, can you imagine calling Schumer's office or the other Dem's who run NY State. Totally useless.

We know he's an American Muslim, but nobody who counts will believe us.

My friend, I clearly realize that the overwhelming numbers of good folks that post on this site have a vast dislike for POTUS Barack Hussein Obama, and that all of them know the danger he represents to the USA. I rant, because, very few people, many conservatives included, both in the media and outside the media, do not effectively draw or outline the ultra danger that Obama has put our great country in. So....since most of the Pubbie POTUS potential nominees are too weak and frightened to call things out as they are, someone has to blow the warning bugle hard and fast!!! You must admit, that in all the nominee debates thus far, foreign relations and policy has hardly been touched upon or discussed, and very few of “our” candidates have spoken with truth and honesty!!! I remember, every single day about the unemployed, through no fault of their own suffering, losing their homes and the Mom & Pop of a killed Military member in a war that our President, Obama would love to see us lose, and....that breaks my heart!!! Sorry!!!

...if you were really ticked off about Obama, you would be calling on the Democrat Party to force Obama to resign immediately.

Are you doing this?

People are active and the Tea Party has gotten some significant traction. These things don't happen overnight but as long as people continue to rally, get the message out and support conservatives over the GOP standard, I believe our progress can continue.

I can't tell you how it feels to have given over seven years of my life and worked with countless others to support gaining an ally in the Middle East only to have it all thrown away by this horror of an administration. I can't tell anyone; nobody cares.

But we can't just give up. We have to keep working to change the face of Congress and to remove that usurper from the White House. And we must keep the media from nominating our candidate like they did last time around.

A lot of things have happened in the last ten years. He declared an end to all wmd programs, we normailized relations with him....and BP came in to recover the oil resource. Daffy was a very bad guy, yes. However, he had transitioned to an oil state, Saudi style...with a very vested interest in normalized relations with the west. Very different, I fear, from what the future holds. Think about it, toppling the Taliban and Saddam was very quick and easy - the fight we are still in has to do with establishoing who fills the power vacuum. How come no fight to fill it in Libya?

Unfortunately, this wasn’t a Lone Ranger deal. McCain, Graham and a bunch of misguided GOP politicians supported Obama, and, in fact, practically forced his hand. All of the usual big thinkers (more and more, I’m inclined to call them group thinkers) at the National Review and the Weekly Standard were egging Obama on, calling him insufficiently motivated. What the heck were they thinking? The issue is that if we intervene in a situation like this, we can’t be for a generic democracy - we have to support our bastards. Because the alternative is that some other country supports their bastards, who go on to win, and the country being fought over ends up being our enemy. Haven’t we learned anything from the Cold War? (Not the left’s BS lessons, but the fact that we must finance and train our guys, because our enemies are financing and training their guys, and the guys with the most financing and training will win).

Regrettably, in this instance, McCain's reaction would have been no different. In fact, McCain's whole shtick was that Obama wasn't acting quickly enough or with enough force. In the case of Libya, I'm afraid both parties are infected by an incurable case of group think, that merely toppling an existing dictatorship will advance our national interests. We used to be more worldly-wise, and actually secretly finance and train our bastards. If that's happening in Libya, I'm sure not seeing the results, between the recent proclamations of sharia and polygamy.
