I had to be up early this morning to appear on Fox & Friends. I was finished by 6:30, so I decided to stop by the Occupy DC encampment at McPherson Square in downtown Washington. Conditions were miserable; 40 degrees, dark, windy, muddy, steady rain. The weather, predicted to deteriorate even more later, was enough to test the resolve of the most dedicated anti-capitalist.
The small park is filled with tents. At times there have seemed more tents than protesters, and indeed, a friend who has kept a close eye on Occupy DC suggested to me that many of the tents which convey the impression of a substantial, permanent protest are actually unoccupied. Thats hard to prove, short of barging into randomly-selected tents. But even among the tents that are in use and I saw a total of four early-risers in the park Saturday morning there is the question of how many Occupy DC protesters are actually homeless people who have come to McPherson Square for shelter, a hot meal, and companionship. . . . On Saturday morning, I met a man who said he was an artist and told me that the worlds fed up in large part because Bush took all the money and gave it to the Chinese to pay for the war. After a while, he told me that he normally lived at a couple of squats in other parts of town but that he had met some people from Code Pink who told him they had a tent in McPherson Square. So he came to the park. Hes certainly not alone there are plenty of other homeless there, he told me but its hard to say how many homeless are part of the permanent Occupy DC contingent.
You have to remember that even though Byron York is a a conservative journalist, he's still a journalist.
I heard some liberal talking head say that the Occupy movement will never give up, never go away, even if there is bad weather.
I wonder who is behind the Occupy movement, and if what’s going on now is a dress rehearsal for next year and the election campaign.
I heard that the cooks are angry. The volunteer cooks are tired of working to cook organic chicken and vegetable medleys for homeless and other drifters who are coming into these camps. They only want to cook for genuine protesters.
But the homeless are part of the 99% who are exploited by capitalism, aren’t they? Aren’t the cooks being very bigoted and judgemental about homeless coming to the occupy Wall Street camps?????
Humm, well lets look at the facts here. We have a far left president who was once a self proclaimed "Community Organizer" and a lawyer for the now illicit Acorn organization and a willfully complainant news media. . . Nah, I don't see any connection to next years planned mayhem. lol
It's all "Grass Roots" man, really! Just ask Brian Williams. lol
The next thing, is an IED will go off at an OWS site, probably put there by a radical leftist as a false-flag op, knowing the bomb will only kill or maim a few homeless men.
Totally worth it, “for the cause.”
“You can't make an omelet without breaking eggs.”
The MSM will totally blame it on the right.
But where else could abandoned property be sacrosanct, in a politically charged setting? Leave a parcel on a subway, and the entire bomb squad will be called out.
But leave abandoned tents, bags and property at an OWS site, no problemo at all.
“I heard some liberal talking head say that the Occupy movement will never give up, never go away, even if there is bad weather.”
And I heard some cop saying they’re going to bust heads, remove the leftist scum and bury their azzez so the cops can go home and enjoy dinner with their kids.
My “what i heard” is as relevent and truthful as the crap you posted.
Let’s stop posting leftist crap, shall we?
They have alread called the Tea Partiers terrorists...... the left could get out of hand then when “Tea Party” types fight back it will be a “Terrorist Act”.....Time for Homeland Security to be called out and “Secure” the peace...esp. the Polling Places....
This is the ‘movement’(BOWEL) version of a modern day filibuster.
Remember when a filibuster would consist of a person reading a phone book, the bible, (now they could read the tax code and guarantee themselves the podium for several days) and being allowed a ‘head break’ once in a great while.
Today they relieve each other, have breaks etc etc..
Well these so called ‘protesters’ just stay there on nice days and go home at night, letting the ‘homeless’ live in their digs so they don’t get accused of abandoning them.
This whole thing is so full of ironies (read BS), they accept the backing of Soros, Politicians, accept pricy donations and accept ‘things’ from the people they are supposedly protesting.
They ‘raise hell’ because the homeless (actually the downtrodden who the protestors claim to be) are infiltrating their ranks and ‘they’ are being forced to share with the needy.
Imagine the dirty tricks that could played on these pinheads?! Empty tents? Cold, wet, and dark? My kind of playground!
They wish to emulate the TEA Party and its popularity with the masses of voters that support a return to sanity in gubamint .. A tall task. ;-)
Who’s behind it?
All the usual suspects.
The answer to that is pretty ceeretain: George Soros, among others...
What is the matter with you? Do you expect moral consistency from Marxists and other Liberal pukes?
C'mon, Man!
On second thought, forget what I said.
Oh, no..........here comes Mr. Yukon Jack.
Yes, sir, may I have another.
When the clean-up in these cities finally begins, HAZMAT crews are going to have to be employed to deal with the rancid, fungus infested camps left by the hippies there.
Well, at least the homeless will have nice expensive new tents.
What kind of communist would deny a commrade’s needs? After all, ‘From each according to their ability....(aren’t they able?) to each according to their need. ( and there are needy people out there) -Socialism is for the people, not the Socialists.
I am not sure of your message ????
Probably. The Left is also working hard to gin up racial unrest to add to the mix.
