They should do the build-up on the ground, the gulf is a bit too wet this time of year.

Someone finally told Obama that if Iraq starts falling apart during the 2012 campaign, it will be another nail in his political coffin.

No. They will remind everybody that it was Bush who negotiated the Iraq withdrawal treaty if it turns bad.

Isn’t that the way it all started back before Gulf War I?

At the same time, the U.S. administration and the military are trying to foster a new "security architecture" for the Persian Gulf that would integrate air and naval patrols and missile defense, the paper said. The size of the American combat force to be stationed in Kuwait remains the subject of negotiations, with an answer expected in coming days, the paper said.

What a bunch or rank amateurs! They have no fargin plan whatsoever and are trying to do this on the fly. Would one ever think of starting this when they were meeting resistance from Iraq? Noooooo! These idiots were bargaining with no chits in the game. Would Iraq give up the gravy train if they knew a back up deal was impending? Geez! I learned how this part of the world operates when I would go to the Grand Bazar in Teheran in the 70's. Its not like going to WalMart. The entertainment is in making the deal and walking away from it several times. I had the cash, the store keeper wanted it. He had to deal or I would just walk away. When I stopped at the next store, he sent his houseboy to tug on my arm to get me back.

Why leave at all? We already have complete bases in Iraq.

Move them out and the draw a plan to move them back in?

Sounds like digging a hole just to fill it in again...

Can't these people do ANYTHING to save a buck?

Not true. The Iraq government said we would not be allowed to keep the basis.

Either fight the war or come home. We have to stop garrisoning all of the world.

Prelude to war. We all knew premature withdrawal from theater, announcing the date in advance would merely embolden our adversaries. The result being an inevitable return to hostilities involving an even greater number of belligerents in an expanded regional conflict. Local Westernized potentates may crave our military assistance, but they don't want our filthy infidel feet treading in their sandbox. And, we're not prepared to tangle with all the muslim uprisings poised to launch throughout the oil-rich kingdoms. Force projection by carrier group: wrong tool for the job though it may be, it's the only card we've got left. So, we will float off their shores, and fly sorties. None of this would matter, if we drill here. Drill now.

Wonderful.....what a waste and total disrespect for the lives lost and altered by 10 years of war.

I swear, what a bunch of bastards, they have no regard for lives or resources. Now we will retreat then kill off a bunch of troops regaining the ground again.....go ahead boys capture hill 403 again this week.

This is not a video game soldiers, husbands and fathers do not return just because obama hits the rest button.

I have to walk away before I get banned and a secret service visit.

This will only bring our troops under fire from Al Queda in another country. They will see our retreaat from Iraq as fear or crumbling resolve.

Same here. Words are not cutting it for me. I can’t even conceive the level of gross, rank, amateur stupidity combined with arrogance and disrespect for the military or any other adviser from the “establishment”.

The stupid clown has no idea and doesn’t care that every asset we have in the theater will have to divert to do his bidding and that still won’t be enough. Think about it folks... the guys in Afghanistan get 1/3 of their stuff by air and it takes all we’ve got to get it there. No Christmas packages for our guys this year. obastard has to make a political stand with our tax dollars and at the expense of our troops.

It IS amateur hour for insolence in the whitey house.

I never thought anybody could be this stupid, including the electorate. It is all a game to these cretins. They live in a world where there is no consequence. All the way to the asshat hillary and her button for the soviets. When I saw that I thought, perfect, it typifies the whole outfit. Yuk it up assH, these aren’t your friends.

I just want to choke the living .... out of someone who so richly deserves it.

I have to walk away, the further I go the madder I get and it seems to only hurt me. Hate is just too weak for what I feel.
