A Letter from an Enraged Lady
EMAIL | NA | Patty Meyers, WYO

Posted on 10/30/2011 10:43:06 AM PDT by dvan

I Think She Is Upset!

Alan Simpson, Senator from Wyoming , Co-Chair of Obama's deficit commission, called senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared "Social Security" to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats. Here's a response in a letter from PATTY MYERS in Wyoming ... I think she is a little ticked off! She also tells it like it is!

"Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight..

1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole for FIFTY YEARS.

2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63).

3 My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of zero ambition losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would have made Bernie Madoff proud..

4. Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and your ilk pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age 67. NOW, you and your shill commission are proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN.

5. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from Day One, and now you morons propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because you idiots mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal money from Medicare to pay the bills.

6. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why? Because you incompetent bastards spent our money so profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt.To add insult to injury, you label us "greedy" for calling "bullshit" on your incompetence. Well, Captain Bullshit, I have a few questions for YOU.

1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career?

2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the American taxpayers?

3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance?

4. What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or, as usual, have you exempted yourself and your political cronies?

It is you, Captain Bullshit, and your political co-conspirators called Congress who are the "greedy" ones. It is you and your fellow nutcases who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers. And for what? Votes. That's right, sir. You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of advancing your pathetic political careers. You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it.

And you can take that to the bank, you miserable son of a bitch.

If you like the way things are in America delete this. If you agree with what a fellow Wyoming citizen Patty Myers says, PASS IT ON!!!

The Social Security account was a separate budget item with a huge amount in the black until 1968 when President Johnson raided it.

That is exactly how I remember it. It was either fund the war in Vietnam or fund the Great Society, and congress, if given the chance, would have funded the war and let the Great Society remain unfunded. Congress was not given the choice.

Those who bemoan the fact that seniors are receiving more (in inflated dollars) than they contributed, need only look at the amount contributed AND ADD nominal interest for the forty-five to fifty year duration to see that this argument doesn't hold up.

“Because the taxes collected from “you, and millions of other Americans” don’t come close to paying for the services you receive and expect to receive in the future.”

What the lady is saying is, if they had been safely tucked away in an interest bearing account, they would be enough.

If you want to be a constituent of the donkey party, it’s easy to do - it requires little or no work (literally).

And it explains much of your end of this exchange as well.

Apparently it is more important to you to quibble about the existence of this lady, the trivial points she may have gotten wrong and where the blame actually lies than it is to support her basic message that enough is enough. A perfect example why the GOP is known as the Stupid Party.

She exposed Simpson for his words on greediest generation. All the more we should lambast him as a Republican albeit RINO. We expect this tripe from the lost cause DemoRats but sycophant RINO’s deserve scorn probably more for their traitorous votes against conservative principles. Good for her speaking out.

the lame-o democrats started flapping their yaps about some non-existent “lock-box”, and their even more lame-o enablers in the media let them get away with it, and the sheeple bought it.

THe primary beneficiary of SS was/is...Congress. It was their slush fund for buying votes from the beginning. Te Dems and 'Pubs are both just as guilty.

What if the taxes had been invested with compounding for up to 50 years?

Feel free to take whatever shots you’d like from here on out - post #40 told me all I needed to know.

I’m happy to participate in a dialog that leads to the better airing of the issues; our’s pretty clearly ain’t going to be one of those.

There are no greater sponges, leech’s, trolls than a career politician, of which Simpson is one of the stars.

It takes a lot of balls for an old man like Simpson who has sucked the Government Teat all his life to call someone else a leech.

He is another like Al Gore who inherited his position from his father and didnt even have to do it on his own, and yet he calls others sponges.

Mr. Simpson KMA.

I’m only telling you what we were told by the government back in the 50’s and 60’s. The government swore that money was safely put aside for our social security benefits half a century later.

Opening statement: ‘Alan Simpson, Senator from Wyoming , Co-Chair of Obama’s deficit commission, calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared “Social Security” to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats’.

Alan Simpson insulted every US citizen - all 310 million - many of whom have subsidized his Senate perks for decades- even as they were forced to contribute to the Ponzi schemes: SS & Medicare - foolishly expecting elected officials to keep their word and be trustees of the programs.

Based on what return on investment - zero?

Soc sec has taken hundreds of thousands of $ from me.

Based on simple return of about 8% - I would be a soc security millionaire.

As it is they pretend to intend to return my money to me at less than the interest rate they would earn on the accumulated capital by the time I am 67.

When 67 - they will have taken from me close to 2$ million.

And in return they might decide that may e they can pay me a few grand/month.

The whole idea of SS being squirreled away into a savings account is a willful government fiction, although you can’t really blame the peasants who believed it. The first few SS recipients got way more than they “squirreled.” But even if they are counted as special welfare cases and excluded, has SS ever acted like that?

Hmm she forgot his biggest political blunder the Simpson-Mazolli bill that granted amnesty to 3 million illegals and was not funded for the enforcement side which meant it was basically amnesty without enforcement (Carrot but no stick) How much has that cost us "greedy" people in payouts to lawbreakers?

See post 18 - we can start again from there.

I don’t have carry any brief for Simpson - he’s a RINO and a jerk. But he’s not the problem - the current structure of Social Security funding - and the Democrats responsible for making it so and keeping it so - are.

Kudos for this lady for slapping down Alan Simpson for being a dick. But if she doesn’t realize she’s been played for a sucker (as have we all) for the past 40 years, she’s missing the point.

We’re getting close to election time. Expect a bunch of articles, posts and replies pushing the general point that Republicans are just as bad as Democrats. Some of them are. But ALL Democrats are just as bad as Democrats, and until they’re marginalized, we’ll never have a shot at dealing with this stuff. Whether or not Alan Simpson ever gets a clue.
