UN Official: Palestinians Mull Disbanding PA Over Stalled Peace Talks
Haaretz ^ | 30 Oct 2011 | Barak Ravid

The deadlock between Israel and the Palestinians could cause violence to erupt in the West Bank, and the rest of the world will not bail out Israel if that happens, a leading UN official who is close to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told Haaretz.

Robert Serry, the UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, also said Israel must take heed of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' threats to resign and dismantle the PA.

"The Palestinians feel growing alienation towards the Oslo process," said Serry. "I hear many voices in Ramallah that call for the dismantling of the PA and to throw the keys back to Israel."

"On the one hand the Palestinians made progress in their state-building....."

What progress? Hamas dictates what occurs in Gaza. That's never amounted to anything positive. Terror state building, perhaps.....

Amazingly enough the UN/west AND the Pallies don’t think rocket attacks against Israel have anything to do with “the peace process”

Serry will be unavailable for comment until Tuesday, he has to see his proctologist about his headache.

The Israelis feel total alienation with the Oslo piece process. If the Palestinians dismantle the PA and throw us the keys, they will be pleasantly surprised with how much both their and our lives improve. The terrorists, I hope, will also be surprised, but not pleasantly.

The proctologist will probably recommend a laxative, and then all of his brains will accidentally go down the flusher, and the world will be better off.

The Quartet and the UN will probably still insist on Oslo’s retention — but the continued downward spiral of their relevance puzzles analysts. :’)
