Karl Rove Says Cain’s Finished, Zogby Says He ‘Trounces’ Romney Head-to-Head
Big Government ^ | 10/28/11 | AWR Hawkins

Posted on 10/30/2011 8:51:27 PM PDT by jimbo123

When Gov. Sarah Palin was deciding whether or not to get into the presidential race, Karl Rove was popping up on Fox News to talk about why her skin was too thin for the job. And when Gov. Rick Perry was thinking about his entrance into the race, Rove was Johnny-on-the-spot with reasons why a Perry candidacy would not be viable either.

Now Rove’s moved on to Herman Cain, whose candidacy he’s doing all he can to sink, sidetrack, or otherwise derail.

Karl -

No one cares what you think! You and your ilk are the reason the Republican Party was trounced in 2006 and lost the Presidency in 2008!

Go away and take Willard Romney with you! Maybe he can find a good Mormon wife for you and you can both fade into obscurity!

This is from a Parade Magazine article on Herman Cain winning the Horatio Alger Award in 1996 for achieving success in the face of adversity.

At Burger King, Cain started at the same point a 16-year-old would. “I made hamburgers,” he said. “I did french fries. I cleaned the bathrooms. It was a humbling experience, but my own modest beginnings helped me to keep my ego in check.” He finished the two-year training program in only nine months and was named vice president of the Philadelphia region, in charge of 450 units. It was one of the worst-performing regions. Morale was low. In four years, Cain made it Burger King’s best region in growth, sales and profits.

Tell me any candidate of any party in the last 20 years that can even come close to matching Herman Cain's life story? Show me any candidate of any party in the last 20 years who's life better embodies the American Dream? The 'Lamestream' media, the rino's, inside the beltway boys and political pundits of all stripes have NEVER saw Cain as a viable candidate. There has been nothing but a solid stream of reason coming from them since he announced as to why Cain couldn't be taken seriously, why Cain can't win, and as those reasons grew thinner in substance or fell apart all together they have been forced again and again to find more and different reasons as to why Cain can't win.

Why do they continue to derail Cain even as he defeats their arguments against him?

There are any number of reason, he is not a member of the insiders club for one, he’s not a known career politician for another, but mostly these people just don’t understand a man like Herman Cain. Not that it is entirely their fault, because men like Herman Cain are so rare these days, men of real integrity. These people who for the most part never had to truly work any day in their lives who scoff at the narrative of the American Dream, now are the first to express derision over the qualifications of Herman Cain.

It’s been at least 30 years since the ‘Lamestream’ Media has had to deal with some of Cain’s stripe and they are completely out of their depths in trying to understand him, just as much now as they were then. I am not saying Herman Cain is the next Ronald Reagan, but he and Reagan share common traits and characteristic, which are far beyond these types to understand.

Herman Cain who truly was until recently a virtual unknown had faith enough in himself to decide to run for President of the United States on his own. There was no Media hype/pressure/build-up about a possible run, there was no urging by members of the Party, no words spoken into his ear by party players, elites, beltway boys or pundits, not even a word of encouragement from the Republican Party of his home state only faith in himself.

And time and time again Herman Cain has shown just what kind of man he is. Is he without faults? Hardly! No man is without his faults, but one measure of a man is how he faces his faults and Herman not only faces his faults, but admits to them, learns from them, teaches others from then and lastly he laughs at himself over them and it takes a man who is truly sure in himself to be able to laugh at their own mistakes.

Considering the great numbers of skeptics on this forum I am sure there will be a good number of FReepers who will find this post funny and stupid, but here goes: I think one of the reasons people support Herman and why so many skeptics can’t see Cain for what he is can be summed up in the following lines from the 2003 movie 'Secondhand Lions'

Hub: "Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in."

In Herman Cain we see a good man, an honorable man, a man that has made his mark through his own effort and owes no one other than God and his Parents for his success. We see a man who did not seek money and power, but achieved them and a yet they clearly hold no sway over him.

Maybe we are foolish and gullible, maybe we have all seen ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington’ one to many times and now think that Good really can triumph over evil. The skeptics, naysayers, elitist,'Lamestream’ media types don’t believe in anything, but there are still some of us, many of us that choose to believe, because those are things worth believing in.

Amnesty and goodies for illegals
Obamacare

Nothing more need be said. He is Obama-Lite with better clothes and hair.

.....I am embarrassed to say Rove lives in my hometown (Austin). Personally, in this election season, I don’t think the establishment types like Rove “get it” despite what happened in 2010 and despite that election in New York recently that the conservative pubbie won after 88 years of dims holding the seat and despite horrendous polls for the dims and zero.

I never heard Rove say SArah had thin skin. But, if he did, i guess she proved him right for I really believe that she was Gabby’d out of this race by Todd and Chuck. And, I can’t say as I blame them. If Sarah were my daughter,or wife, I would not want her running either. That said, will any woman (qualified as a woman with a chance to win) ever have the stones to run again or will they always be scared too. And, I mean all the way through election night.

The Republican “Establishment’ had better back away. They are teasing the “dragon’s tail” and you get away with that only so long.

They blow off the T-Party at their peril and the peril of the Party and the Nation.

A Romney nomination is a guarantee of a viable 3rd party. Worst possible outcome for the Party and the Nation.

It is their’s to mess up. You have been warned.

It makes you wonder whst kind of republic the US is anymore. When people like Palin are scared away and we’re left with career politicians and lesser-of-two-evil choices in every election.

If someone like Cain is kept from the nominations, can we really say with a straight face that elections in the US offer any real choice anymore? They look more like a scam, like kabuki theater.

If you don’t believe in prayer, well, then you wouldn’t understand what a powerful influence God can have on a persons life and you’re left with the ‘Gabby’ way of making decisions.

Wrong.  Cain is an automatic win.

Cain will strip 25% of the black vote from Obama, guaranteed.

Cain will get the 60% white vote that did not vote for Obama in 2008, guaranteed.

Cain would get the disaffected independents that voted for Obama in 2008, guaranteed.

A Cain candidacy is a a guaranteed win.

Oh, and uh, RP running as a 3rd party is hardly ensured.

Playah.
