South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, who’s taken on tough tasks from immigration reform to climate change, faces another one as he calls for spending billions of dollars overseas on unpopular foreign aid programs that he insists are vital to U.S. national security.
With Congress facing mandatory spending cuts and previously sacrosanct military programs on the chopping block, Graham is trying to protect funding for foreign aid even as most Americans oppose it – 71 percent in a recent poll – and other Republican leaders call for focusing U.S. resources at home.
“It is a tough sell, but you can be pennywise and pound-foolish,” Graham, a Republican from Seneca in his second term, told McClatchy.
“This movement to kind of withdraw from the world is not a viable option,” Graham said. “I advocate military engagement when I think it’s necessary, but really you can get more bang for your buck from civilian programs than you can from military engagement most of the time. You’ve got to have more options than just dropping bombs on people.”

South Carolina people are the dumbest for keeping this idiot in office. Why are they getting a say in our primaries when they can’t even clean out their garbage. I used to think South Carolina was conservative but with this????? How is it possible that they get respect? South Carolina is a laughing stock.
All “foreign aid” goes to cronies in the US who claim to help other countries. These are either in the form of contracts to corporations or in the form of grants for NGOs that “help” other countries by giving them advice. They then claim that the third world dictator is the reason for the poverty as he was corrupt. Sure, they are corrupt but not as corrupt as our senators who make money off the “foreign aid” programs.
Stupid, stupid, stupid people for ever reelecting this traitor and bum. I will personally boycott any products from SC.

I’m sure the democrats will be happy to have you join them in one of their boycotts. They were already boycotting SC because of the flag when Rep. Joe Wilson called out “You lie” while Obama was lying to a joint session of Congress. They’re fighting tooth and nail to keep industry out of SC. Why don’t you contact them and ask what you can do to help?
