SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -- The Spartanburg County Sheriff is known for speaking his mind, and at a news conference on Monday, he didn't hold back his anger and frustration after a woman was attacked in a park over the weekend. Investigators said 46-year-old Walter Lance grabbed a woman who was walking her dog in Milliken Park on Sunday afternoon. They said Lance choked the woman, made her take off her clothing and tried to rape her. (Full Story)

Shot placement over caliber..... practice practice practice.
Now if you want a .45 just to add to the collection.... well that’s a different story :-)

And look who's guarding him.
Armed citizens are the best deterrence to crime. We don’t need more borrowed billions from the government to do the job.
Well, 1/9, I’m a past USMC expert with a pistol, I think I know how to handle a weapon.
Your 9MM will do very nicely. .45 is great, also.
Practice and ability is more important than moving from a 9mm to a .45. Either one can make you dead. Better to invest in ammo and get training plus range time. I love my 1911, and have used it extensively in competition, but I still feel suitably equipped when I conceal carry my 9mm (Sig P229). In fact, I'd reach for the P229 first since I shoot both it and the P226 much more frequently.
Man,oh man,
This is my kind of sheriff.
A double tap is recommended for the 9mm, the .45 carries more stopping power; but, I actually prefer the 9 besides I already have two of them. Otherwise, I was just musing.
“I think I know how to handle a weapon.”
I appologize if I made it seem like you did not know your weapon. I was just passing along a little info handed to me by my old man when I was just a boy. “Son it don’t mean sh^% if you don’t hit”
Words to live by......
Mine too, he joins Sheriff Joe and Richard Mack in my LEO’s hall of fame.
No offense taken; but, from your handle, I thought you were former 1stBat/9th Marines.
Next to Sheriff Joe anyways
I always keyword/title search before posting; and, no previous posting showed. It’s happened before and probably will again, blame the site.
Nice catch on the reference not many catch that. Did you catch the tag line?
BTW, I am just a bit on the young side for the true 1/9, but not too young to forget what many have done for me.
All Marines know 1/9, even Jethro Gibbs.
FWIW, I REALLY like my Sigp239 in 357Sig.
Give 147gr osm a try in that nine..... Good 9mm Load we use in MP5SDA3’s..... Glad more folks take responsibility for their own security.....
Stay safe....
My kind of Sheriff ! >PS
Done!
When seconds count, the cops are minutes away.
Have the Obama zombies called for the Sheriffs resignation yet? You know that’s going to happen because heretowit section 1A of the liberal code of justice, a person must be a victim and then get killed before he or she is allowed to defend themselves.
I learned a PT chant 40 plus years ago:
“A .38 will knock them down.
A .45 will knock them down and spin them around.
A .357 magnum will knock them, spin them around,
and kick their ass back up again!”
There were other, more colorful and profane chants to go with the miles run. We weren’t PC back then - just worried about coming back “to the land of the big BX”!
I don’t get in much of a lather anymore about reposts. I missed this one, first posted earlier today and am glad I caught it this time.
Remember the days when any column by Ann Coulter would be reposted a dozen times? With every other reply calling for pictures of her scrawny self?
I don’t either, the moderators can take it down if they want to do so.
You are your best first responder. Nobody else gives a sh1t about you as much as you do. Harsh, but reality.

A lot cheaper to shoot, too.
Yep, Little Bill was a nasty character, Will was right.
I’d have to go to Tacoma to get my concealed.
Trying to figure out what is more dangerous. Being out in public unarmed or going to Tacoma!!
