You could roll into a common market, kill everyone in sight, and hit an insurgent with every shot.
The body count theory eh? The problem is that more you kill, the more are recruited. The last ten years (plus the Soviet defeat) provide ample proof of that! Bring the troops home now! Nobody has ever conquered Afghanistan with the possible, and temporary exception, of Alexander the Great.
Well, my theory involves the decimation of every one of them. As you are so right to point out, the only way to “win” in Afghanistan is to kill them all.
Too bad we didn’t employ that tactic in Iraq. But 4500 dead soldiers and a trillion in wasted $$$ just so they can return to the way they have been for the last 1000 years was worth it. Definitely.
What makes me angry and ill is that Pakistan’s intelligence service created the Taliban for us during the Soviet invasion and they still support and supply it today and our Military and State Departments know this, but “ignore” that inconvient truth.
For some reason, we pretend to be allies with Pakistan, while at the same time spend trillions of dollars trying to prop up a turd world country with blood and money, fighting a force supplied and supported by Pakistan. Combine that with the “blind eye” we turn toward Afghanistans opium and marijuana crops, which go to fund the Taliban, and you have a purfect F....up.
If America was serious about this “War on Terror” we would obliterate the dens of terror, starting in Pakistan. Like others have pointed out, we could do so much more with bombs and leveling cities/villages/valleys then all of this “win their hearts and minds” crap. They are backwards islamic people who, even if they swear allegiance to freedom today, can very easily become a islamic terrorist tomorrow.
We are wasting the lives of our best and brightest, not to mention our money, trying to put a shine on this turd sandwich.
My nephew is one of The Leavenworth Ten. Like my my brother says and I completely agree, "While they were trying to win the hearts and minds of those people, they completely lost mine".
Kill them all? Including male babies in the womb? How far are you willing to take this? If you the answer is yes, we have very different views of what it means to be an American.
And I have no problem with your views. My only problem would be you standing in my way.
And just what does it take to be an “American”? You would not have, apparently, done too well in the South Pacific fighting the Japs in WWII. Get to know a vet that did that.
And I’m not saying it wouldn’t hurt my spirit, but when I look at my grandbabies, FTW and the PC bullshit shaping their future.
I suppose you like the fact we spent hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of AMERICAN lives to promote a POLITICAL agenda that only cost YOU and your PROGENY their heritage. And their future.
