Cain was still going strong [And still IS going strong!]
Public Policy Polling ^ | 11/1/11 | staff

Herman Cain's had a bad couple of news days that may or may not ultimately throttle his candidacy, but in our polling over the weekend he was continuing to fly high. In North Carolina, which a month ago was the first state we found him leading in, he'd built on his support over the last four weeks. And in Maine he held a small advantage over Mitt Romney, showing the ability to challenge Romney even on his home New England turf.

In North Carolina Cain led with 30% to 22% for Newt Gingrich, 19% for Mitt Romney, 10% for Rick Perry, 4% each for Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul, 2% each for Jon Huntsman and Rick Santorum, and 0% for Gary Johnson.

In Maine Cain led with 29% to 24% for Romney, 18% for Gingrich, 5% each for Bachmann and Paul, 4% for Perry, 2% for Santorum, and 1% each for Huntsman and Johnson.

Seems to me that Ron Paul is losing his luster.

I just don't understand Ron Paul. Sometimes he seems to be a sensible Constitutionalist, and other times he seems like an absolute nutcase. Which is the real Ron Paul?

“What have been the Sexual Harassment charges filed against the officers and ordinary employees of Politico?”

I’ll bet a few FReepers, in anonymous ways, could spam the Politico H.R. department with some juicy, disgusting stories against some of their guys. I worked in H.R. long enough to know that charges against superiors don’t need to be true. And I learned that charges are fabricated to make someone else’s life miserable. “Sexual harassment” is a convenient tool for bitchy unethical workplace chicks.

True, but still the pain of Cain falls mainly on Hussein.

I wish I'd thought of that.

I think you've got it!

There is a drought of national polls since Cain took the lead. The oldest two polls still being averaged at Real Clear Politics are more than two weeks old so they should scroll off the list of polls being considered 'current'.

But that would put Cain strongly IN THE LEAD over Romney, so I predict that RCP will NOT retire those two oldest polls until more polls arrive.

HERE are today's Real Clear Politics averages IF you ONLY count their polls taken in the last 14 days (which is their standard):

Poll 14-day window Sample  Cain  Romney Gingrich Paul Perry Bachmann Santorum Huntsman Spread
RCP Average 10/18 - 11/1 --  24.5 20.5 11.0 8.5 8.0 2.5 2.0 0.5 Cain +4.0

Is there any surprise why the liberal scumbags are dredging up whatever stink they can to damage Cain?

Thank you for the analysis. I am curious to hear more. I am also wondering how the newest polls will shake out.

No surprise at all that the liberals are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. They are terrified of a genuine black conservative. Romney does not scare them since their Achilles heel, Obamacare, will be off the table with Romney as the nominee. Romney is the biological father of Obamacare.

Yeah, how about this article on RCP:

Cain Game: Why Sexual-Harassment Allegations Won’t Sink Herman’s Campaign

An excerpt:

Yes, sexual harassment is different from general poking around since it is a form of aggressive behavior, but it is difficult to prove (although the two women in question received cash settlements from the Restaurant Association, which means we’re probably dealing with some form of industrial-strength obnoxiousness here).

I love how he concludes that because there was a payout, that means Cain was guilty. Apparently he doesn’t understand that it doesn’t even matter what a guy DOES, it only matters what a woman claims she FEELS.

A woman sees a guy stick his finger in his nose across the room and the woman can claim she thought it was sexual and she felt uncomfortable.

Whatever.

Great point about averaging down the polls to fit one’s agenda! I had not thought of that.

With a 14.3 TRILLION dollar National Debt, and all the other abominations of Obamanation, it fascinates me that the MSM spends more time and energy on unidentified accusations than on the afore-mentioned reality.

In particular, if I hear Bachmann mention her 4,379 foster children one more time I’m afraid I’m gonna have to buy a new TV.

To be fair she did not mention them the last two debates. I think she got the message. I love the woman and even I tired of that. The woman is a hero for taking Perry off our hands. She should be honored for her great efforts in taking down Liberal Perry. She really needs to continue her good works and go after Romney on 9 November. I seriously doubt that she has any interest in being Romney’s VP.....however if Cain chose her as VP I would be absolutely THRILLED!!!!!

Seems to me that Ron Paul is losing his luster.

As expected. Wrong Paul will be back to his customary 4-5% level once the dust settles.

And this is why the left and rinos want to bring him down. They fear conservative white women and conservative black men.
