The man admits to beating her because he’s upset. He physically assaulted her out of anger and spite. That beating had nothing to do with punishment or discipline.
It is just one of the signs. I won’t condemn someone who uses corporal punishment on his child. But it has to be administered with love not out of anger.

2004? That’s amazing video quality for 2004. Hardly a grainy webcam quality one would expect of devices from 7 years ago.
So then leads me to believe it was at least a mini-DV camera mounted on a tripod and perfectly aimed at the right angle to capture the beating - then encoded from tape and uploaded 7 years later.

I want to see this animal in prison, being set upon by other animals. It is what he deserves. I can only imagine what he must have done to his wife too, to make her bad mouth the daughter to deflect from herself - a classic abuse victim strategy. Monster.

I guess I’m in the minority but I don’t think the child was hurt at all. She cries loudly when she’s being hit but quits immediately when left alone.
That being said, 16 is far too old to be being spanked. The father doesn’t realize his cute little girl has become a teenager, goodness they can drive you crazy.

First off, I thank God that wasn't my dad. Secondly, I'd run against that judge myself if I was in that district.
If that was my dad, I wouldn't be taking it. We'd either settle this like men, or if I was that scared, I would wait until a back is turned and have a game of baseball on his head.

That was clearly felony child abuse by both parents. The man should be removed from office immediately and their State Court Admin office should review his sentencing. those parents should be incarserated in prison, or preferably interred.

True but anger will do that to a person when you have had enough. Just how do you get a teen to stop unwanted behaviour when everything else has failed. I had a sister that was as smarmy and defiant as the day is long. I watched her get it with a belt more than once in my life. She always came back stronger, with attitude to boot.
One day, my dad had enough.
Had a camera been on him that day, he would have been in jail too. Yet my siblings and I watched this bully get put in her place and loved it. God knows she beat on us more than once.

There is more to this story. It makes me very uncomfortable to see this, have no background, no other evidence and have the man lynched in cyberspace.

Can one imagine what damage could be done by a political rival knowing that a daughter was illegally downloading things from the internet?
How many times had she done it and how many times was she warned?
I don’t condone the length of time he did it, or that the wife is made out to be innocent but there is more to this story.
Boy, as I watched that I felt really manipulated. She recovered waaay too quickly for someone who was badly beaten.
