Perry Claims He Can Secure Border in One Year as President
Fox ^ | November 3, 2011 | Hannity interviews Gov. Rick Perry

Posted on 11/03/2011 8:46:48 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

....PERRY: Well, let me just put it this way. The federal government's complete and absolute failure to secure our border put a lot of pressure on governors no matter where they might be to have to deal with issues. You are required to give health care, you are required to give education. And Texans made a decision -- are we going to kick these people to the side of the road and they are going to become tax wasters? Or are we going to require that they become citizens of the United States and become taxpayers? We chose the latter. I would still do that today, considering the barriers that if you will, the arena that we have to work in.

As the president of the United States, I am against the DREAM Act. I will shut that border down because I have had to deal with it for 10 years. I understand. I am putting Texas Rangers and National Guard, I am putting Texas citizens on the line over there, they are being fired at. Thank God none of them have been killed yet. But the fact is, I know how to secure that border. When I am the president, that border will be secure. And these issues that we have been forced to deal with as governors, will start being alleviated. And then we can have a decent, a thoughtful and economically focused conversation about immigration policy.

HANNITY: So you think you could secure the border in what period of time if you're president?

PERRY: I think you can do it within a year. I mean, seriously, within a year --

"...are we going to kick these people to the side of the road and they are going to become tax wasters? Or are we going to require that they become citizens of the United States and become taxpayers?"

So that Perry's solution to the flood of illegals. What BS!

How does forcing them to become US citizens and thereby eligible for even more public assistance punish them or stop them from coming?

How does making them file income tax returns make them actually pay income tax when only the top half of earners pay and many of the other non-tax-payers in fact get Earned Income Credit redistribution of taxpayers money?

" I say to them give me some things that Cain has accomplished besides making good pizza..I could care less if he made a pass at Queen Elizabeth I want to know what he has to offer besides the 999 idiot plan.. "

The Dingleperrys yuck it up and accuse many from being from DU if their guy Perry is attacked, however ? can see you clearly your attacking Cain here...

You say he has no experience ?

If you actually look at the United States Constitution, the ONLY requirements to run and qualify for President of the United States is : 1 # must be over 35 years old, and a natural born citizen...

Ohh yeah ? while in your Dingleperry high, and accuse me from being a liberal and from the DU, why don't you just go ask Jim Robinson, who is the founder of this web site, he can vouch for me, I am not a liberal nor from the DU.

On the contrary, many here on FR see the Perrywinkles the one's who are the one's from the DU, that also goes with the Romneybots.

Perry is the Liberal Party in the GOP establishment/anti-Tea Party/Democrat co-horts back up plan for Mitt Romney in case Romney does not get the nomination.
Mitt Romney and Rick La Raza Perry are of the same mold.

OK, I’ll give you the idea that only Paul, Romney, and Perry cannot lead.

Let’s see. Taking a failing business, making the tough choices, and turning it around. Actually putting his own money behind an effort to stop abortion, rather than taking money to push a vaccine for an STD that was difficult to opt out of. Fighting against Clintoncare as well as Obamacare, unlike Perry or most of the others.

Political inexperience leading to mistakes in his campaign, but it is not a disqualification for the office. In fact, in the eyes of most voters, it is more a blessing than a curse.

There is no proof Perry had anything to do with Cains women stories..I was not really going to get into anything on here about Perry(although I do know he would make a great president)but when the lies started then I had to answer..The things I have read are just stupid comments..I have lived in Texas all of my life except for the times I traveled with the military..and I voted for Rick Perry every time and will vote for him again..He is a good man and a good governor..

When people tell lies just to get their man out of a jam with the women then it irks me to no end..I just say make up your own mind and don't listen to the lies..I to love Sarah Palin and would have voted for her and I think she would have made Rick Perry her running mate..That is my opinion..

"That they did, but it applied only to K-12 education."

IIRC there was qualifier on that as well. Basically because the feds were not active in enforcing those provisions of existing immigration law. Otherwise, illegal aliens could be denied. Now I have to look it up again.

"Cain has no experience his resume is like Obama..Some people think they have to vote for another black man so they look good and is not called racist.
I say to them give me some things that Cain has accomplished besides making good pizza".

He graduated from Morehouse College with a degree in mathematics at the age of 21, the first person in his family to ever go to college. He started to work for the navy as a ballistics analyst while going through graduate school. At the age of 25 he graduates with a Masters in computer science from Purdue.

He starts as a systems analyst at coca-cola and works his way up to being a VP of IT at Pillsbury. Pillsbury apparently was impressed with him. They offer him the task of turning around the worst 400 burger king restaurants in the country. He does it in 4 years and makes them the best in the country. They offer him the job of turning around the Godfather's pizza chain. He does it in 14 months. Then leads a buyout of the chain.

If you call that a "lack of accomplishments" then either you aren't too bright or you are shilling for some other candidate.

Right, that's why there is no longer an illegal immigration problem in California and it's all prosperous and sunshiny today.

I guess the fact that they can catch a ride from Arizona across I-10 is immaterial, eh?

Go check out what happened in the Yuma AZ sector where it was legitimately tried and was so successful they shut it down quick before the word could spread on how effective it was.

Will do, I am aware of the failings of the virtual fence, will read up on that.

I’ve recently started mulling about the idea of a “Great Compromise” on this issue:

Step 1: Seriously beef up border security
Step 2: E-Verify
Step 2: Seriously increase employer sanctions who fail to use e-verify and hire illegals.

Here’s the compromise:
After 5 years, any illegals left can come out of the shadows and apply for a new type of ID (Call it a Blue Card). This would force them to pay income and other taxes, but would forever ban them from ever becoming US Citizens or collecting Social Security. No Voting priveleges. It would allow them to stay indefinately provided they pay their own way.

"However, for a conservative candidate to call the rest of us heartless because we don't want our tax dollars going support illegal education is another. Keep Perry in Texas don't send him to the White House."

Understood. I too was miffed but it was a poor choice of words on the fly. I heard Perry later explain the predicates for in-state treatment and the justification and was swayed. This also cannot be a single issue election and we have the House which will serve as a safeguard to amnesty (which Perry does not want). The alternative is Mittens unless Cain's campaign gets its stuff together.

Guess what ? after you come down from your Perry High, Rick Perry is soft on Illegals, and those who are " SOFT " on Illegals either have a political agenda behind it, or have illegals working for them and paying them under the table.
You can take your La Raza Cheer leading Rick Perry crew some where else, Free Republic is ANTI- ILLEGAL immigration..

As to the instate tuition hubaloo, the votes in the TX House and Senate were 179 for, 4 against, or somesuch. Just saying.

A man of principles who did not want the law would still have vetoed it, not signed it. That action shows that the person does not have principles. Additional what has he done as governor to stop the illegals.

Perry-pimponistas can’t sell their man so they are sabotaging Cain, the man who is winning. Perry's numbers show how badly this reflects on Perry. Perry has proven, beyond a doubt, to be a loser of the first order.

Perry's using the same slimy tactics he used in Texas----only difference is that outside Texas, people are onto his tricks. The more Perry talks, the lower his numbers sink----he's now pulling down single digits, in the bottom tier of candidates.

============================================

REFERENCE Texas conservatives-----who say they did not support Perry-----nevertheless voted for him, twice for agriculture commissioner, once for lieut governor, three times for governor. They say they were convinced Perry's opponents were much worse.

ANALYSIS This was Perry's winning strategy----that he milked for all it was worth----to make his opponents look much worse than he was. (Payoffs for saying certain things have been known to occur elsewhere.)

I still believe Texans DO NOT have a very big say in Perry's odd string of election wins. Perry's 2012 race is now in trouble, b/c outside Texas, people are onto him.

Now, Texans were duped into believing that if Perry DID NOT win, Texas would be stuck with a Dem gov/leg majority. BUT even with Repubs holding 101 of 150 Texas House seats....conservative issues still come up short with the Repub Perry/Repub House Speaker Strauss partnership.

Now isn't that interesting? Wonder if it ever occurred to conservative Texans why their issues always come up short with so-called "conservative" Perry AND a Repub controlled legislature?

Also odd that many Texans DID NOT EVEN KNOW Perry was showering their tax dollars on illegals---in-state tuition---etc, etc, etc.

So did Texans think it was odd that Perry "said" he was foursquare for "conservative reforms---eliminating sanctuary cities for illegals, so very dear to the heart of Texans? But when the bill came up for vote, lo, and behold....Big Money came raining down---and the bill went down to defeat.

Did Texans ever wonder HOW that happened? Did a lot of hefty state grants, govt contracts and plum appointments go flying out the gov's door after the vote? Did a lot of Texas "conservative" legislators suddenly get nice campaign contributions after the vote?

CONCLUSION: Perry's only concern is to make Mexico happy---the rest of America be dammed. No way will borders be protected by Mexico's 2012 candidate---Senor Ricardo Perry. Mexico needs Perry and cadres of illegals (voting blocs) to get their hands on billions in foreign aid.

OK, they're saying that Herman Cain isn't responding in the right way to the media charges. Cain doesn't have the experience, he's not a professional politician, he doesn't have the experienced advisors...that's what they tell us.

So, what has it been? 6 weeks since the Perry debate implosion with the "you have no heart" comment. I wrote immediately after that that Perry has to pound the drums on how he's going to secure the border. That he's the man to do that and no one is going to do more than Perry in shutting down illegal immigration.

6 weeks later, the experienced, long time professional politician Rick Perry takes 6 weeks to plug the gaping hole in his campaign.

Yup, we need an experienced professional politician, who'll handle media storms correctly.

Perry blew it, it shot himself in the foot, then dug deeper.

Cain is a liar.

Perry isn’t.

It’s that simple.
