Oakland developer Phil Tagami is used to working behind the scenes to broker some of the biggest deals in town. Late Wednesday, he was using different persuasive skills - holding a loaded shotgun to scare away rioters trying to get into a downtown building.

"We had people who were attempted to break into our building," the landmark Rotunda Building on Frank Ogawa Plaza outside City Hall, Tagami said today. He grabbed a shotgun that he usually keeps at home, went down to the ground floor and "discouraged them," he said.

No police were in sight, he said.

I’m surprised one of the ‘leaders’ of the OWS gang didn’t egg on some of their useful idiots to enter the building. They’re dying to get some martyrs (as long as its someone else) for their cause...

Think about it, the cops are own their own trying to keep civility.

The Mayor is tweeting the rioters, then they give teachers etc. the day off to shut down the Oakland Port. I haven’t heard did the LONGSHOREMAN join the shut down? I guess the police union knows who their real friends are now.

At least this guy had enough sense to realize the danger and do something about it.

You knew California would be first.

If I owned buildings in New York City, I think I would pay the Mafia to protect my buildings.

True, the mayor has already made it clear that police are on their own and won't have the backing of city government.

The so-called “occupy” movement is a combination of two things - it is a demonstration of our dumbed down education system and Obama’s “community organizing” skills.

The occupiers are not sophisticated enough to put a nationwide “movement” together and they are clealy being orchestrated by government higher ups. And, when we hear the idiotic utterances that come from them, it is undeniable proof that the American education system is a complete and abject failure on all counts. The occupiers are so clueless, they aren’t smart enough to even know how to BUY a clue!!

We got work to do, folks - lots and LOTS of work!!!

Too bad he didn’t “discourage” the protesters with a few rounds.

“The Mayor will want that man lynched, the mayor totally supports OWS tearing down his city.”

I don’t think there is any doubt they will attempt to prosecute him for something.

The OWS is the same cast of characters we all know and love—ANSWER, MoveOn, etc,—just under a new banner.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

You know the OWS captains in the various city talk to each other, and they are sure to talk about this and trade notes. This happened, that works, this doesn’t, etc.

OWS is an attempted revolution given the chance, and yes, absolutely, they are most definitely looking for martyrs. They are going to probe this Tagami guy, and get him to make a mistake. Cat and mouse.

I feel sick to my stomach saying this, but I think they did deliver on actually protecting the neighborhoods where they collected “protection money”. Business went down from crime, their own pockets took hits.

Not to say they are completely reliable, imagine if they thought it was too their advantage the unions they are in with protest and riot. They will sell you out in a second if their is a conflict of interest

And the press is spinning it into a giant party,

http://news.yahoo.com/occupy-oakland-stealing-occupy-wall-streets-mojo-172604392.html

Summary, the fun and peaceful protest with prayer services was invaded by bad apples.

*sigh*

I was just thinking that the Mafia might just be seeing an upsurge in business if the cops get rolled by OWS.

They are crooks, but they aren’t Communists.
