Georgia businessman Herman Cain, who continues to battle past allegations of sexual harassment, draws the most support nationally for the Republican nomination.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary voters shows Cain with 26% of the vote over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romneys 23%. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich draws 14% support, with no other GOP contender reaching double-digits. Thirteen percent (13%) of GOP voters are undecided at this time. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
As for the rest of the field, Texas Governor Rick Perry picks up eight percent (8%) support, Texas Congressman Ron Paul gets seven percent (7%), both Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman each pick up two percent (2%), while former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum draws support from just one percent (1%).

Cain 2012
I want you Perry swooners to consider this carefully: If he can't debate effectively, think of the 'deer in the headlights' look he would have had in front of the cameras if he had but one incident like the several bogus shots Cain has just endured.
Stop giving Oklahoma a bad name with stupid statements in a public domain for crying out loud.
“A vote for Perry is a vote for Romney.”
That sounds familiar, but Perry’s support is so low that I’ve changed it to Newt...who I do respect - but I think that Cain is stronger candidate when it comes to going up against Hillary.
“I want you Perry swooners to consider this carefully: If he can’t debate effectively, think of the ‘deer in the headlights’ look he would have had in front of the cameras if he had but one incident like the several bogus shots Cain has just endured. “
An important thing to notice here is the amount of time before this attack broke on Cain - it was WEEKS. I have NO DOUBT that the same would have happened to Perry, if he was able to stay in the lead for more than 5 hours.

He had a great interview with CNN’s John King today.
Can you say BACKFIRE????
I love this guy more and more that he tells the media to F off
when that bozo kept asking him question over and over after he just finished saying he was not answering... and he told him “what did I just say”
I would have sent him ANOTHER check if he had slapped him on the head
2. Newt
Great news! Cain’s number one even after Perry tried to screw him. Perry as usual is in single digits. Getting pretty close to the bottom of the barrel....no wait, he is there for sure. Some Perry Lovers think that Perry is coming back....ROTFLMAO. Oh best news of the day is that “jla” has been zotted by Jim. Getting rid of them one by one.....HAPPY DAY!!!!!
Perry's supporters here have made precisely that argument against Cain, repeatedly. Doth the irony of it sting too mightily?
Too bad. I've endured that kind of crap from the RINOS on this forum for long enough to have earned the pleasure of payback, especially when Rove and crew ran Arnold in California, thus wrecking our last chance to save this misbegotten State. They told us he was a "fiscal conservative" and then we watched him bankrupt the State in bond debt and regulation. Perry's supporters tell us he is a true conservative while he abets the hispandering of America into a the land of demographic no-return.
So, cry all you want. It will be repeated until he mercifully departs.
And Cain is in first. Sweet!
I don’t think so.
I think it’s going to be a totally Catholic ticket.
You can figure that out, right?
Yep. True. HAPPY DAY for sure. Jim knows how to clean house. A few more would be nice too!!!!! Won’t mention any names......
Good luck with your payback and enjoy it until you b!tch about what it is that you finally achieve with your "change".
For all we know by next November the country will be screaming for Perry....or possibly Gingrich...or perhaps Bachmann.
There is plenty of time for political venting before the elections.
I wonder how the “polls’ would change if Sarah Palin re-introduced herself to being a candidate for the next election?
The Romney-Rove RINOs can’t derail Cain....and Texas can keep their RINO Perry even if he didn’t have a hand in helping the DNC media scandal-mongering.
| Much like what the government does with unemployment statistics, the following chart represents a 4-poll "rolling average" for the latest 20+ polls listed at RealClearPolitics.com (plus recent weekly national polls from YouGov). I also weighted the polls by their size. For example, a poll with a survey size of 1000 was weighted proportionately heavier than an 324 survey size.

He is apparantly taking Donald Trump's advice is is going to go nuclear back upon them, including possible legal action....this will really flush the "oppos" cockroaches out from under the carpet who planted this scorched-earth, uncalled-for "scam" and "scandal" (smear) with Politico.
As a result, if it turns out those who contrived this hatchet job on Herman Cain never can work another day in politics and have to take a job as a shoe salesman down at the nearby Foot Locker, while it will just make my day. They will definitely deserve all the backfire in their face that can be generated...and it will also serve as a warning to others. BACK OFF on the smears! Libs. Rino's. RNC-types. Talking heads. Former high-flying advisors. I don't care who you are. Just BACK OFF.
What a cast of characters:
Flippsy Mittsy
Herman One Note
Tex the Befuddled
Professor Newt
And bit parts still played by:
Bug-eyed Michelle
Rick, the pissy altar boy
Guess I’m leaning toward the professor. But,honestly, this is not looking good.
Ruck Fomney. Just sent Cain a Franklin. There’s more where it came from.
I have been reading about George Washington and how he shaped the idea of the Presidency by his virtue and character. The early states delegates voted on the premise of a “President” by the persona of George Washington. I realize we have no one near him in any category, but it begins to dawn on me that we should be looking for a statesman who will help us through some very troubling waters ahead. Guess who best matches up in the areas of statesmanship, projection, proven leadership, global gravitas, yep, NEWT GINGRICH!
“The Cain train keeps on rolling!!!!!!!!”
Yes it does. Also Newt continues his slow but steady rise in the polls. Karl Rove’s man Mitt Romney is stuck in the low 20’s.
I saw that. That is good news.
And here is the post that did it.
So if we don't support Perry we're 'white trash'?
Good riddance.
Cain is a Man, and the media have no idea how to take him down. Even the so-called republicans are baffled--the more they disparage and sow seeds of doubt, the higher his contributions go! Trust me--the usual snatch attacks will not work on him.
Guess who best matches up in the areas of statesmanship, projection, proven leadership, global gravitas, yep, NEWT GINGRICH!
I agree. I hope Newt can rise to this moment in history and show himself to be the candidate who can reinvigorate the idea of American exceptionalism. It makes sense that after electing a inexperienced, disingenuous, far left narcissist that America would turn to wise, experienced statesman who understands American greatness. I could see it happening, but Newt needs to answer the bell.
Speak for yourself please.
Tony La Russa?
Romney wouldn't change a thing...absolutely no backbone. At least Newt's state of the union speeches will be worth listening to.
Interesting how Karl Rove -- officially "unaligned" -- has been actively flogging the Herman Cain sexual harrassment story. And, this afternoon on Hannity, he found time to take some pointed shots at Gingrich, as well.
All in the interest of "objective reporting", of course.
Talk about snakes. Pudgy little snakes...
Now that is some very good news. 'Bout time that serial disruptor got the boot.
Do you happen to know how he came to embrace the holy amperage?
It might take a week or two for a lot of folks to actually believe she was honestly in the race, but after that, I think she'd skyrocket to the top.
Here is the great news!!!!!!!!!! South40 was kind enough to let us know.
One of the more obnoxious Perry supporters has gone the way of the zot. This one called Herman Cain supporters white trash.

Sexual harassment? Even if he implodes, it’ll be worth it to bury Romney.
“One of the more obnoxious Perry supporters has gone the way of the zot.”
So I’m white trash for supporting Mr. Cain, eh? Learn something new every day.
It smells better around here already. A good zot does that. Leaves that lingering ozone smell that clears the sinuses.
Thanks for the link to the zot of the day, Naps. I thanked Jim for taking that trash out of the house. It had become rancid beyond all tolerance.
The top 3 contenders actually remind me a little of the top 3 commiecrat contenders for their ‘08 nomination.
There’s an African-American who has very little political experience, but articulates broad ideas that endear him to the party base. For them, Barack Obama, for us, Herman Cain.
There’s a really smart figure best known for their role in the 1990’s, but who carries a lot of political baggage. For them, Hillary Clinton, for us, Newt Gingrich.
There’s a creepy, plastic guy from a state generally associated with the other party, who insists that he’s the most electable but seems extremely untrustworthy. For them, John Edwards, for us, Mitt Romney.
The commiecrats nominated Obama, but I get the feeling that they wish they would’ve nominated Hillary and are very glad they didn’t nominate Edwards. I wonder what we’ll wind up doing?
I’m with you Princess Leah. I’m leaning toward Newt more and more. Steady as He goes! Steady as He goes!
DITTO,vekzen! DITTO indeed!
Not sure why everybody waits for the latest MSM/REP EST polls to come out??
I do not believe any of them no matter what they said, about ANY candidate!
I no more would believe the Thursday unemployment numbers, or the monthly job numbers that this administration releases.
Why would anybody believe anything any MSM/REP EST pollster had to say??
Just boggles my mind.
Pollsters will apparently pick our candidate
That’s why I said “very little POLITICAL experience.” I wasn’t intending to belittle Cain’s resume. But politically, like Obama in 2008, he IS a neophyte.

I know. As I said, I didn’t mean to be ornery. I have just seen this comparison too many times. I personally feel that political experience is overrated, and in many cases counterproductive. An ideal president would either be from higher echelon of the military, or of business — not from the political world. This is simply because the presidency is unlike any other political position, and has significant parallels to reaching the top of either the military, or big business.
Barack Obama’s political inexperience was relevant, since he had no other experience. Herman Cain’s political inexperience is of dubious importance, simply because he has such a track record of success.
I agree with your overall point, but that comparison always irks me, because so many try to use it to diminish Cain.
I wish the media would quit legitimizing these snakes by acting like they matter and speak for republicans.
Fair enough, FRiend. I understand your point, and it’s a reasonable one.
I thought that primary voters did that. Those are the only pollsters that matter at the end of the day.
