New Ad Compares Herman Cain to Clarence Thomas

November 4, 2011

(WASHINGTON) -- An emotionally charged new video obtained by ABC News from the group Americans for Herman Cain portrays the sexual harassment story as a racially motivated effort to destroy Herman Cain.

The video ends with Clarence Thomas’ closing statement at his 1991 confirmation hearing: “This is a circus. It is a national disgrace. It is a high tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves. It is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order you will be lynched, destroyed caricatured rather than hung from a tree.”

As Thomas speaks, the video superimposes the words “Don’t let the LEFT do it again.”

Americans for Herman Cain is a so-called Super PAC independent of his campaign. A spokesman for the group tells ABC News the ad will run on television in Iowa next week and in a series of Internet ads on the Drudge Report and elsewhere. It will also be emailed to 25,000 Republicans in Iowa.

It's been pretty obvious from the beginning that there was a parallel between the treatment of Herman Cain and the way Clarence Thomas was treated.

And they have been treated the same way for the same reason.

Rational, successful, conservative blacks are a very real threat to the leftist establishment and they'll stop at nothing to get rid of them.

And with both Thomas and Cain, they seem to have failed.

That would cost a fortune. Right now it’s being targeted to an Iowa market.

What facts are those?

He didn't really grow up working class black in the South? He isn't really a Mathematician who worked for the navy? He didn't work on rocket trajectory? He didn't work at Coka-Cola? He didn't rise through the ranks? He didn't go on to turn around the Burger King franchises in Philadelphia? He didn't Rise to the top ranks at Pillsbury and he didn't run Godfathers Pizza and work for the Fed or as a talk show host?

Which of these things is untrue?

Not to use this problem to your advantage and increase his coffers would be stupid. I would MILK IT as well.

As for his attacks on Perry, As far as Perry goes, it is all over but the crying. He is not going to be the nominee. He had the chance to show up and claim victory, but he ended up being not ready for prime time from the first debate and has done no better since. It is a shame, I thought he would do much better.

BTW Cain is not my hero. He just happens to be one of the few alternatives to Romney in the race. After the way that Perry was unable to show competence in the debates, I have my doubts that the electorate will accept another TX governor who speaks slowly and seems unable to think on his feet as the next POTUS. Particularly when he calls a large portion of his ‘Heartless’!

If you had only paid attention you would have known that Cain has ONLY said that his guess is the story leaked from Perry’s camp. When there is one person who was privvy to some private details given to him years ago, and is a frequent writer for Politico, and happened to go to work for Rick Perry a couple of weeks ago..... yep, that would be a logical connection. Only the media and folks like you keep perpetuating the theory. Get a grip.
My guess is the leak is from the White House as a ploy to take attention away from Bammy and his fraud deals with Solyndra and many others plus the Gunwalker investions.

Clarence Thomas should be an absolute HERO for the black community. Herman Cain holding on to Thomas’s coattails is exactly what should be done. Someone like Herman Cain now has the opportunity to freely teach and lead by example. Clarence Thomas, even though leading by example has a low profile as a SCJ. Herman Cain has the opportunity to begin showing blacks what is really possible in America. It is time to absolutely bury the liberals. Herman can aid in this process.

Neither Cain nor his organization made the video. A group supporting him did. I suppose he could have called them and asked them to make the ad. Do you know if this is his organization?

Cain did not sign settlement, accuser's lawyer says

How would he know "the facts" given that he wasn't party to her "severence pay" settlement?

The lamestream's keeping this story alive.

Herman Cain remains at the top of the polls.

And conservatives of all stripes continue to donate to his campaign.

The leftist media is going to end up being sorry they concocted this 'scandal' and tried so desperately to keep it going.

I hope that eventually ALL conservatives understand that this attack on Cain is an attack on ALL of us.

The left is beneath contempt.

I am so glad to see our side slapping these attacks down and calling them for what they are. No more turning the other cheek on this stuff, the gloves have to come off.

Powerful ad. I’ll donate to them, too. This is EXACTLY what the voters in this country need to see.

It isn’t the race card when it actually is racism. Or do you think black conservatives are treated like any other Republican candidate?

Of course it doesn’t prove you are correct in any way, shape, or form. Responding to attacks that continue to compound is not trying to keep a story alive - it is refusing to just sit back and take it. Moreover, this ad was not produced by Cain nor his campaign. So on what do you base your accusations? Let’s hear it.
