RUSH: I am starting to sense it. I am starting to see it. When I sense it, when I see it, it probably is true. That's been my track record. I think I detect the media heading into damage control on the Herman Cain story. A lot of media are. This day five now, and still nobody knows what he did. Not a single media outlet can report what he did!
Some are even suggesting that The Politico had no business running this story. These are other journalists who are beginning to say this. ... The media is also in damage control over the Occupy Oakland riots the night before last. I mean, yesterday the media was trying to pretend the Oakland protests were peaceful; the very model of a love fest, but now the truth is coming out along with some of the pictures and they're switching over to damage control mode -- and they're doing the same thing in the Herman Cain story.
Really, folks, five days now, and nobody knows what he did... Nobody knows still. Five days!
...No matter what happens here, every Republican candidate for the nomination -- every one of them -- is so superior to Barack Obama, it's laughable. Of course the Drive-Bys know that, and Democrats know that. But when you have the Washington Post and ABC News in their joint poll saying that 70% of Republicans don't care about the Herman Cain allegations, what that can be translated to is the following:
"Politico, you failed. You attempted, along with others in the mainstream media, to take the guy out, and you failed. Your influence isn't what you thought it was.

The political smears just don’t seem to be working anymore. Like the race card, the white cracker liberals have worn it out by playing it too often. I think Cain is benefiting from the trashing and smearing dished out by the commies against Sarah Palin, her husband and their kids. Real Americans have had enough of that commie bull****.
It’s over. Her attorney came out and said she’s dropping the issue. It happened but she doesn’t want to talk about it.

A bump in the polls and a million extra dollars for Herman Cain.
I think the next step will be that some Conservative blogger will find out who she is and publish her name. And we will then all learn that she is a serial offender and a participant in the Jerry Springer freak show circus.
If she was even 1/500% as presentable as Anita Hill she would have been all over the tube by now.

I think the MSM woke up this morning and realized something very big is about to happen.
If they destroy Herman Cain, they validate Sarah Palin. And the last thing they want or need is Sara Palin changing her mind with a few million pissed off Conservatives talking about racist and sexist liberals.

Now we need to move on with the campaign. The object is winning the presidency; not getting even with low-life a$$es.
I think Rush’s accuracy percentage just took a hit. If you look at actual preference polls it seems pretty clear that Cain’s ratings hit a peak immediately before the story hit, and have dropped by about a quarter since then. Whether that continues remains to be seen.

I think the time has come... or is coming close... for Palin to endorse Cain.
Rush, called out other republicans for not standing up to it. This was an attack on all of them. If it worked they would just do it to the next in line.
