WASHINGTON - The United States would be "satisfied" if fair parliamentary elections in Egypt produced a Muslim Brotherhood victory, President Barack Obama's pointman for democratic transitions in the Middle East said Friday.
"I think the answer is yes, I think we will be satisfied, if it is a free and fair election," the newly appointed special co-ordinator for Middle East transitions, William Taylor, said when asked about what the U.S. reaction would be if the Islamist party comes out ahead in elections starting this month.
"What we need to do is judge people and parties and movements on what they do, not what they're called," Taylor told a forum at the Atlantic Council, a Washington think-tank.
In June Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Washington had been in "limited contacts" with the Muslim Brotherhood as part of an effort to adjust to Egypt's political upheaval.

Okay, let's watch. Bet Mr. Taylor is going to find out that innocent names often equate to radical actions. His problem is he refuses to look at the past of said "peoples and parties and movements...". Case in point: "Occupy Wall Street" sounds peaceful enough, but what has happened? We've all seen the riots and destruction of private property.
The Hell's Angels and Galloping Gooses started off as a group of WWII Vets who got into motorcycle racing and hill climbing (I was at the 50th anniversary [1997] of that start in 1947). They got a little free-willing because they were kicked out of the Gypsie Tour hill-climbing competitions (which still exist) because of drinking to much beer, as ex-WWII Vets tended to do. Then they got attitude with the so-called riot in Hollister (Wild Ones movie based on that); then they got separatist; then they got anti-establishment; then they got criminal. The same thing can happen with any benign sounding name.
To me, what is benign about the name Muslim Brotherhood? It sounds like the Black Panthers Brotherhood. This guy has a point, but misses the ultimate consequences of the past of benign sounding names.
Remember the German's Worker Party that Hitler turned into the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP) that morphed into Nazi? Words means things.
And what of the Communist Party of America? Is that a benign name or does it entertain their beliefs that are anti-Americanism?
Yes, I believe actions speak louder than words, but certain words speak to or incite particular actions.
Great. The “spiritual leader” of the Brotherhood told a crowd of a million of so a few months back that his only wish is to go to Israel. He prays that even though he is in a wheelchair he will be able to kill some Jews before he dies.

There were many Americans, who warned by the publication of Mein Kampf, still felt that the election plurality that set Adolf Hitler on his rise to power was legitimate and thus a good thing.
We seem to learn nothing from history, and as a matter of fact it is hardly taught in our schools. Thus, for the American Left Wing rhetoric counts, and the Islamist history of the Muslim Brotherhood itself has no meaning.

Obama insisted Israel withdraw to pre-1967 borders which would make the country indefensible. Obama, like virtually every Muslim in the world, would smile when the Jews are slaughtered.
What's the RIGHT ANSWER? Obama is working for those who want to destroy America. My guess is the highest bidder is Saudi Arabia. But he sure likes Iran. And he's done everything he can to make Egypt and Libya Radical Muslim.
He plans on bringing Sharia law to America. The Dems welcome it, do you? The whole time the MSM looks at Obama as the first black President. He could care less about the blacks, he wants American blood in the streets in a racist revolution.
With the transfer of Yemen to the Islamofacists, we have no strategic protections at the end of the Red Sea (thus the Suez Canal)...

Muqtada al-Sadr was also given the opportunity to do the same in Iraq. He hid out in Tehran for awhile before returning this past January. Not long after that, he went back to Iran "to continue his 'studies'."
What does any reasonable person think will happen in Iraq when we're out by the year's end?
Maybe I’m being overly picky, but Pakistan should have been at least orange, if not completely blazing crimson under both admins.
It's all silly hogwash of course, but just because something is patently absurd doesn't mean that the left won't embrace it. In fact, patent absurdity is pretty much the litmus test for any idea taken up by the left, so the more insane something is, the more likely they are to climb aboard the bandwagon of insanity.
You can add Nigeria to your map. There is a nasty little war going on in northern Nigeria with an extremist Muslim group trying to force strict Sharia law. If I have read this article correctly it appears that more moderate Muslims are being targeted in addition to Christians. Killed 67 in the last few days or yesterday?

If the official US government position was against the Muslim Brotherhood, that would just ensure that the Brotherhood got more votes.
