VEHARI: A cleric tortured a seven-year-old student for not memorising his lessons properly.

According to residents of Vehari’s Ghara Mor village, a local prayer leader tortured a seven-year-old student for forgetting the words to a surah.

Busti Sheikhan Wali resident Muhammad Mumtaz’s son Muhammad Adnan, 7, was memorising the Quran at a mosque. On Friday, several of Adnan’s class mates said that he kept forgetting one verse of a surah and cleric Muhammad Latif beat him with a stick. “He then hung the boy upside down from a tree and beat him while screaming at him to recite the verses properly,” said Mansoor Shah, who was also present at the mosque.

...

Adnan’s father was informed of the incident and came to the Vehari DHQ hospital, where doctors told him that Adnan’s leg was broken. “The boy has suffered severe bruises and some internal injuries. His left leg has been broken and we cannot re-set the bones,” said Dr Altaf Momin.

Students at the seminary said that Latif had begun kicking Adnan and when he begged for water after being hung by the tree, he was refused. “He was hanging from the tree for over an hour. Every few minutes Latif asked him to recite the verses and when he got them wrong he was beaten,” said a student. “He kept asking for water but he was refused.

Religion of Peace.

This so-called religion should be shunned on an international scale. It’s nothing but a cult of brutality and death. To even place it on a relative scale with other religions is an abomination.

It breeds nothing but animalistic automatons.

Give me a Torah, a stick, a baked Virginia ham, a stout oak, and about two hours alone with this so-called “cleric.” I’d make him recite some verses.

If this story is posted on Democratic Underground, there will be some folks who will use the occasion to put the blame on "Christian fundamentalism".

THE WHITEBOARD
SHARED ROOTS: The president’s statement on Hajj and Eid al-Adha:
“Michelle and I extend our greetings for a happy Eid al-Adha to Muslims worldwide and congratulate those performing Hajj. Thousands of Muslim Americans are among those who have joined one of the world’s largest and most diverse gatherings in making the pilgrimage to Mecca and nearby sites.

“As Muslims celebrate this Eid, they will also commemorate Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son by distributing food to those less fortunate around the world. They join the United States and the international community in relief efforts to assist those struggling to survive in the Horn of Africa and those recovering from the devastating earthquake in Turkey.

“The Eid and Hajj rituals are a reminder of the shared roots of the world’s Abrahamic faiths and the powerful role that faith plays in motivating communities to serve and stand with those in need. On behalf of the American people, we extend our best wishes during this Hajj season. Eid Mubarak and Hajj Mabrour.”

I am getting to the point where if I hear one more ignorant bastard try to defend Islam as another legitimate religion on par with Christianity I may just punch him in the face.

Islam is evil.

Muslims are not to be trusted.

Personally, I won’t even tolerate them.

Religion of peace my ass.

“He then hung the boy upside down from a tree and beat him while screaming at him to recite the verses properly,” said Mansoor Shah, who was also present at the mosque.

“We protested to have the child freed but by the time he was taken to a hospital he had fainted from the pain,” he added.

What happened to taking action to forcibly free the child? Oh, I forgot, it's Islam; lifting a finger to help a suffering child is taboo.

“He beat my son to a pulp and I expected this man to teach my son about Islam!” Muhammad Mumtaz said.

Sir, he did just that.
