Rep. Ellison introduces voting bills in Congress
DAILY PLANET ^ | November 4, 2011 | BY MATT HERBERT, THE MINNESOTA DAILY

Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., introduced a bill in Congress Wednesday that would prohibit all states from requiring photo identification at the polls.

“The Voter Access Protection Act” comes at a time when states across the nation, including Minnesota, have moved to establish photo ID laws as a protection against voter fraud. Legislatures in 20 states introduced such a bill in 2011, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

“This legislation would prohibit one of the most pernicious forms of voter suppression, requiring a strict photo identification card at the polls,” said the bill’s co-author, Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Wis., in a press release.

See Which Congressmen Voted Against 'In God We Trust'

The House of Representatives passed a bi-partisan resolution Tuesday night reaffirming “In God We Trust” as the official motto of the United States. The 396-9 vote came at the request of Rep. Randy Forbes (R-VA) – in part over President Obama’s refusal to correct remarks he made that misstated the motto as “E pluribus unum” instead of “In God We Trust.”

Lawmakers voting against “In God We Trust” include Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY), Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich), Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA), Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO), Rep. Mike Honda (D-CA), Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA), Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA), and Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA). Voting present were Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) and Rep. Melvin Watt (D-NC).

An amendment should be added to prohibit using photo ID’s to board an airplane and see how that sits.

Soros-Funded Meeting of Voter Fraud Deniers Hold Election Law Conference

Last month, a collection of groups funded by George Soros held a conference on election law and the upcoming 2012 election. PJ Media has obtained details of the event from an attendee The meeting was one long attack on voter integrity efforts in the 2012 election.

The sponsor was the Fair Elections Legal Network, a group that has received $105,000 from the Soros-funded Tides Foundation since 2007.

Unconstitutional on its face. A blatant attempt to protect vote fraud, the chief means by which the party of crooks gains and keeps power.

I needed photo id to return something I paid CASH for with a receipt at Best Lie..

They can shove their restocking fee up their Biden to, but that is another story.

It’s been 4 years since I was in one of their stores. Now I remember why.

“modern day poll tax,”

No, that would be if we made you pay to vote with a check and produce an ID to verify your check.

Watch a leftie’s head explode: ask them if they believe kids should be “forced” to show valid photo ID before purchasing cigarettes. Or does that “disenfrachise” them?

You need ID to fly to Chicago, cash your SOSH security check or buy a can of spray paint if you look too young. so...what’s the big deal? The only people opposed to a photo ID to vote are groups who would profit from the ease of ineligible voters(IE illegal aliens, felons, ect) being able to vote.

The Republicans are worried about not getting voter ID and the Democrats are worried about getting voter ID, but neither Party worries about the hackable, not audit-able and potentially controllable voting machines that make your individual vote worthless.

That should really worry all Americans. Are both Parties looking for a grand deal (as in I’ll give your 4 years, if you give me 4) that leaves out the vote of citizens. They want the system nailed down to only two parties.
