Herman Cain heaped praise on the Koch brothers Friday, calling himself the Republican power brokers' "brother from another mother," NBC News reported.
"Just so I can clarify this for the media, this may be a breaking news announcement for the media: I am the Koch brothers' brother from another mother," the channel quoted Cain saying while speaking to the brothers' conservative advocacy group, Americans for Prosperity, in Washington, D.C. "Yes. I'm their brother from another mother! And proud of it!"
The candidate's colorful compliment came shortly after his campaign's ties to a Koch-related non-profit were challenged by a political watchdog group.
Charles and David Koch, who control one of the most profitable energy companies in the U.S., have become right-wing political kingmakers in recent years.
Through Americans for Prosperity, they helped grow the Tea Party from a fringe movement into a political force.
But the watchdog group, Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington, says Cain's dealings with a Koch-linked non-profit violated election laws.
They filed a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission Friday, claiming that Cain and his campaign manager, Mark Block, improperly used $40,000 in corporate money donated to a group affiliated with Americans for Prosperity, The New York Times reported.
The funds were used to charter flights for Cain's campaign and buy pricey iPads, the legal complaint charges.
Election laws bar non-profit groups from spending on presidential campaigns.
Meanwhile, Cain's campaign is still dealing with allegations the presidential hopeful sexually harassed several women.
One of those accusers on Friday said Cain made "a series" of come-ons in their workplace more than 10 years ago.
Cain maintains he never sexually harassed anyone.
The expression on Cain's face just cracks me up. He looks like he's full of the dickens, and I love it.
FYI, Leftist attack group that has a long history of filing fraudulent complaints against Conservative candidates only to drop the complaint after the election.
Ok, now, that makes me smile.
The left really are humorless bastards.
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother.
God willing, Herman Cain will be the next POTUS.
Go Herman!

Seems like a lefty bias to me.
Cain is brilliant at giving the left the vapors.
even though I am not a Cain zealot...that is funny
it also amuses me that he is managing to thwart the media so far
>>even though I am not a Cain zealot...that is funny<<
It gets even better if you read all of what he said. He started with:
Im very proud to know the Koch brothers, Cain said. They make it sound like weve had time to go fishing together, hunting together, skiing together, golfing together. But just so I can clarify this for the media
Aside: Okay, it sounds like hes ready to go defensive here, right? Instead, he says:
This may be a breaking news announcement for the media I am the Koch brothers brother from another mother.
You just have to laugh, and suddenly the Koch brothers are no longer a problem...sheer genius, and no Washington insider could possibly have come up with it. They wouldnt have dared, just like they wouldnt have had the guts to run the smoking ad.
These brilliant primary maneuvers will become ammunition against him in the general.
Nonsense. This wasn’t directed at the primary opponents...it was a direct shot across the bow of the liberals who think the Koch brothers are the conservative equivalent of the Left’s George Soros, et al.
You are missing the point. What I said was that embracing Koch Brothers plays well during his primary campaign when opponents are trying to out-conservative each other. During the general, however, the soundbite of Cain calling Koch Brothers as his brothers can and will be used against him.
