The FBI has joined the search for a 2-year-old Washington state boy who was last seen by his mother inside a parked car.
Sky Metalwala was reported missing Sunday morning after his mother discovered him missing from her car in Bellevue, Wash.
The child's mother told police that she had run out of gas and left the boy buckled into his car seat while she and her 4-year-old daughter walked to a Chevron gas station, about a mile away.
When the pair returned to the silver Acura approximately an hour later, the 2-year-old boy was gone, Fox affiliate KCPQ-TV reports.

I'm not buying her story, BTW.
I wonder how many investigators/profilers thought there might be a rise in Anthony-inspired child homicide....
NO SANE MOTHER leaves a 2 yr old buckled in seat belt/car seat, alone in a car, and walks away for an hour
I predict they will find this woman did something to this this child
Mom is an absolute idiot, if this is what she did. Leaves a 2 yr. old for an hour in an unlocked car by himself. I pray he’s found ok, but some people should not be allowed to have children.
Especially in dingo country...
“...left the boy buckled into his car seat...”
Maybe she should have had an IQ evaluation before she decided to be a mom.
If somehow this turns out to be true, then the 4 yr old should be taken away from her, and I would propose tying her tubes....but that’s just me.
YOU TAKE THE CHILD WITH YOU. What was her excuse, too lazy to carry the child?
Prayers the little boy is found alive and safe.
What did she do? Drive out in the middle of nowhere until she ran out of gas? If anyone took the baby, it’s likely to be found at Children’s services. Not everyone is a baby napper!
“I’m not buying her story.”
No cell phone to call for help? But then, maybe she doesn’t own one; or if she owns one, she didn’t carry it with her.
Walks a mile with a child of 4 years in cold weather to a gas station?
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
I seldom finish the month with more than a dollar or two left. If I can contribute ten dollars a month then anyone can. This forum is one of a few almost sane harbors in an insane world. Please help pay for our megaphone, put your money where your mouth is.
No, this area is an upper-middle class, mostly white suburb. I google mapped the location to see if there were any nearby gas stations. I did not see any, but I did not study the map very long.
A local news website reports that the boy’s parents are going through a divorce.
Though Bellevue has a reputation for its upper class and middle upper class neighborhoods, [my wife is a Bellevue girl], it also has areas that have a large population of immigrants as well. Mostly Asian, East Indian, and Russian. There are apartment complexes, and single family homes in the 112th street area that are in that category.
Thanks! So, no cell phone? Why didn't she ask one of the residents, or a passerby? I can't follow her logic.
Very true. mynorthwest.com reports that the boy is half-Indian, but's it's unclear whether they mean American Indian or East Indian. PC frowns on "American Indian," so I'm guessing they mean East Indian.
That's my monthly also. It's not a lot but if all regular users would get on board for just 33¢ a day, there wouldn't be anymore FReepathons. You can't even buy a cup of coffee for 33¢.
Possible. I have one now but I held out for a long time because I hate having a electronic leash. Half the time I don't carry it.
Why didn't she ask one of the residents, or a passerby?
Depending on the time of the day there might not have been anybody around,
I don't understand why she didn't just pop the hood and wait. People who will not stop will call 911 if they see that you are in trouble.
I don’t get it. Everyone under 30 or so has a cell-phone welded to them. Why not just call someone?
I’d bet a good cop having peanut butter and jelly sandwich
and a glass of chocolate milk with that 4 year old may get an interesting account.
The suspicionometer just pegged, and is starting to smoke.
