Fed up! McCain predicts rise of third political party

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senator John McCain predicted on Tuesday a third political party will emerge in response to Americans' economic frustrations and said it might as well be called "the Fed-Up Party."

The Republican Party's presidential nominee in 2008 raised the possibility of a third party about a year ago, but his comments on Tuesday suggest he has hardened his views as polls show Americans increasingly disillusioned with Washington politics.

The 75-year-old McCain may now be the most prominent politician forecasting Americans will look to another party to compete with Democrats and Republicans.

"Unless both parties change, then I think that it's an inevitability. We aren't doing anything for the people," McCain said in blunt remarks at the Reuters Washington Summit.

"No, I don't think so," he said when asked whether he would saddle up with a third-party movement. "I will continue to complain about things but ... I still haven't given up on the Republican Party."

(snip)

"The Tea Party was a movement, not an organization, as we know. And so they've kind of receded. There was never any permanency to them," he said.

"The Tea Party was a movement, not an organization, as we know. And so they've kind of receded. There was never any permanency to them,"

This describes exactly how the political and punditry elite think concerning the great unwashed. This nation needs to be purged of the likes of McCain and his ball of rats.

I don’t know about Juan’s reasoning, but if the media and the opposition researchers manage to sink Herman Cain’s campaign, it would not be at all surprising to see a Third Party effort. I don’t see Tea Partiers and conservatives in general rallying around Mitt or Perry or Newt. They all have issue stances that will not sit well, and Bachmann seems too far back now to make a run during the primaries.

"Unless both parties change, then I think that it's an inevitability. . ."

Yeah, well . . ol' McLame does have a small point (on top of his head!), but his prescription for change I'm not buying.

One party needs to change or it will vanish off the face of North America: the GOP.

We currently have Socialist Party A and Socialist Party B, War Party A, War Party B, Big Business/Wall Street Party A and Big Business/Wall Street Party B.

If it keeps up this way, there could be a merger in their future.

Republicans need to differentiate their party from the established big-government, nanny-state, security-state order if they intend to stay in business and bring this country around.

Winning the next election is about all they care about these days, while a fast-growing minority of Americans is more concerned about where this country is headed with its 14+ trillion dollar national debt, a less-than-replacement birth rate and millions of baby boomers planning to retire in the near future.

Who's going to pay the bills when they come due? Who will fight the wars McCain and his cronies are trying to foist on us?

McCain has done all he can to encourage a third party--or former Republicans leaving to be unaffiliated--and now he worries about it, or predicts it will happen? I guess he is the expert on such things.

Remember this America: Anybody speaking of a third party at this time is the enemy of America and a friend of obama!

What does this say about the “leadership” of AZ: McPain, Napolitano, DeConcini, Babbitt, Udall, etc.

He hasn’t completely destroyed it yet......

The thing is Sen. McCaniac the parties have changed; changed in that they now both have just one single minded goal. To change America into a social welfare state where the smurfs are totally dependent on the government for their daily piece of bread. Senator, why don't you do us all a favor and shrivel up and blow away already.
