I think you may have something. Why is everyone so concerned about Paterno? Why is the outrage from the media down to FR aimed at Paterno? There is a man accused of being a serial child predator, and the college administrators and head of police did nothing when they heard the allegations. So why is Paterno the object of everyone’s anger?
Sandusky is the prime target, but Paterno McQuarry, Schultz and Spanier are also secondary targets.
There are people who really want Joe to somehow be let off the hook.
To remain in some kind of denial about the gravity of not intervening when this continued to go on.
That is not happening. Period.
Joe isn't a special target. But he is a target and he is not being let off merely because he did some good things along with this reprehensible thing.
No exemptions on this.
Easy. Paterno is no more guilty than the rest (save Sandusky, of course). But he is the most prominent. Nobody outside of Centre Country has ever heard of this Spanier guy.
The media is naturally going to beat on the biggest name. Makes it a bigger story.
because he is the only person almost everyone following this story had heard of before it happened. From reading about it, he IS on a list of people who deserve considerable attention, however.
