Rick Perry on debate gaffe: 'I stepped in it'
Polutico ^ | Wednesday November 9, 2011 | Alexander Burns

Rick Perry swiftly came to the spin room after the end of the GOP debate Wednesday night and directly told reporters that he screwed up on stage.

"I'm glad I had my boots on tonight," Perry said. "I stepped in it out there." Continue Reading

Perry froze up on stage as he attempted to list the three federal departments he planned to cut, naming Education and Commerce but forgetting the Department of Energy.

Said Perry: "I may have forgotten Energy, but I haven't forgotten my conservative principles."

Asked by a reporter if that moment was embarrassing, Perry said: "I stepped in it, man. Yeah, it was embarrassing. Of course it was."

I’m not going to name them out on the board, but they were extremely obnoxious.

I take it you were deeply in the tank as well?

On Aug 14 The site owner threaten to zot Perry supporters if they didn’t clean up their act.

That there's pretty interesting, seeing as how Perry didn't enter the race until August 13...

I asked her point blank 2 nights ago if she actually believed the things she posted. After trying to avoid the question she said that she did in a following post.

It is what it is.

“I’m really not sure why people are writing him off, but ok.”

Because he stinks in debates, all of them. Duh.

Newt does more than stumble when he repeats his mantra of destroying our “secular” society. That’s the part of him that scares me and I can’t get past it. Aside from the fact that it is wrong on its face, Christian or Judeo-Christian theocracy—even veiled approaches to it—paves the way for tolerance of Sharia and Lord knows what else. Keep America secular.

Too bad SCOTUS avoided this one. Clarence Thomas is right.

As a Palinista I agree that there were indeed obnoxious troops in the ranks. Many consider me such. So be it.

Anyone with an ounce of integrety who is interested in seeing the truth about the Palin flamewars and how they compare to the Perry flame wars need only go back to the posts themselves and read. Of course that will take weeks of reading since the SP threads were one rolling nonstop trollfest.

You will note that some of the worst Palin trolls...jla, Clarity, Carling and a few others, were amongst the hardest of the hardcore Perry supporters. For every zotted Palinista, 5 or more Perry supporters self immoliated. And note I say ‘self’ immoliated. A few openly argued and got rather snippy with the boss.

Not one Perry supporter, nor one Palinista got the zot because of their prefered candidate. They crossed lines they should have known to leave alone and did it anyway.

That said, as readers peruse those threads, they will notice exceptions of course, but a couple things stand out. The people ragging on Palin used a lot of inuendo, false representation and flat out BS in their attempts to discredit her. You will see post after post by myself, Windflier, Onyx and others calling them on it and saying ‘lets debate the FACTS.”

On the Perry threads like this one, you see those of us pointing out FACTS about perry and his disassociation from conservative values. From the beginning issues like guardasil, TTC Gore and most importantly his stance on illegals/tuition/LaRaza and Muslims...all legitimate issues concerning this country... have been met with claims of irrelavance and being ‘personal attacks’.

As to the so called ‘attacks’ on Perry supporters themselves, people should not be shocked that when they defend and support non conservative positions on a conservative website that people take issue and respond in kind.

It is now between Gingrich and Cain for me now.

I’ve made it my point to stay away from the flaws of our more conservative candidates, given that all have some weak points, but nothing compared to obama and Romney.

Not one vote has been cast, so all of our guys and Michele Bachmann remain the running.

I also omit Ron Paul, because he’s a Libertarian and I think he will run on that ticket and I find Huntsman a total 1% bore and RINO.

NO, Governor Perry’s third Department was AGRICULTURE and he recovered the very next round!

He made a human error. Like I said on the LIVE thread, he had a momentary memory lapse.

It happens to all of us.

I forget what I go into the kitchen for!

Yeah, Energy!
See? My memory is worse than Governor Perry’s, but I’d shut the EPA!

Shutting the EPA is a foregone conclusion if any restart of the economy and American energy independence is to occur.

I don’t care if it’s a campaign issue (though it should be) as long as it’s in the top 3 things done by the incoming admin. Most of the lower of the Lib/Dems trace back to enviro BS.

BP cannot patrol the border over eco concerns and pays millions from their budget annually to the EPA for the areas they are ‘allowed’ to patrol. No I’m not kidding.

Logging/mining/drilling/fracking all stumoed by EPA regs.

Your local auto mechanic ...ever wonder where all the old style garages went? Ask the EPA.

And on and on...

Hay as a dust preventative = pollutant

Breath and cow flatulance = global warming.

and on and on...

Kill the EPA and american business thrives.

Land closure and rights stripped from land owners over turtles and bugs.

There is no end to the damage the EPA does daily.

Perry has a brain freeze, Our Sarah is a quitter, Romney is a gun grabbing baby killer, Cain is a boob grabbing pizza maker, Bachmann ....... who, oh the chick, Gingrich drives a Prius and Paul is a nut.

What are we going to do?

This ought to draw some fire and “go back to DU” comments!

;<)

The enviro issue is my ‘thing’ as my history in the OHV world and related writings suggest. But that aside, people should think critically about it because it’s the one thing that touches all other aspects of Dem/Lib power/control.

There literally is no aspect of liberalism that does not use environmental concerns on big ways as the biggest hammer in the tool box.
