No one said the truth needed to be tiptoed around.

It’s simply a fact that there is such a thing as “acting presidential.”

One can accomplish the same effect, most of the time, and still preserve the dignity of the office.

All I’m suggesting is that before people get too rah-rah about Newt’s bombthrowing capabilities (google that if you weren’t paying attention during the Clinton years), it would be good to remember that he will have someone different restraints, and rightly so, if he were president.

Yes, but my point is: who gets to define what is and is not presidential? When is the last time we had a president who had the huevos to confront lies at all, instead of talking about my good friends across the aisle? My idea of a good president is one who will say things clearly and forcefully. That is a leader. I'm sick of politicians who worry more about appearing "presidential".

That said, I'm not necessarily a big Newt fan. I remember how badly he let us down in the 90s.
