The Penn State University football program is worth more than $50 million each year to the university. But according to one estimate, the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse case could cost the university more than $100 million in civil suits alone.

You missed the PC take on all this?

It’s that these are heterosexual men (look - he’s married!) and not typical gay behavior, which involves only (mostly) monogamous consensual sex between two adults who can now legally marry.

That’s the “party line” on these situations.

The shame is that the actual people involved will skate. None of them will end up paying out of their own pockets!

Before everything is said and done, I think Penn State will voluntarily suspend its football program for a couple of years—or be forced to do so by the NCAA. This is the worst scandal in the history of college football—far worse than the usual incidents of cheating. Given the magnitude of this scandal, it’s impossible to envision Penn State football being allowed to continue with business as usual, or simply forfeit a few scholarships, along with TV and bowl appearances.

Hopefully, this scandal means PSU administrators and faculty have to take massive cuts in pay.

They can start with that global warming charlatan Michael Mann whose use of faulty data generated the so-called "hockey stick" graph in an attempt to show global temperatures have dramatically risen since 1950 which correlates with the rise in carbon dioxide. Though seemingly a slam-dunk for the brain dead global warming crowd, correlation does not equal causation and release of the climategate emails show that several researchers conspired to cook the results in their favor.

I agree with the article’s estimate of $100 - $250 million in civil judgments and settlements. IMO the loss of football revenue will be comparable.

You are absolutely correct. Never in all of history was there ever predatory sexual deviancy until the United States started “normalizing homosexuality.”

Oh, that's a killer riposte, the kind of slam-dunk logical smack that blows the whole issue right out of the water.

Oh, did I say "blows?" Oops.

Yes. Penn State did their own investigation of Mann when his fraud was made public, and they exonerated him. Sounds like familiar territory for this institution.

Good point. As one astute columnist in New Jersey pointed out yesterday . . . Without its football program, Penn State is just Rutgers without a short train ride to New York City.

News at the top of the hour said the PS Board of Trustees are not done meeting and more suspensions/firings expected in the next several days.

Sue it until it closes down. It’s time we started shutting the doors of these despicable “institutions”—

When you can’t propagate your own species, you have to recruit and indoctrinate, including by force.
