Classy: OWS Defaces 9/11 Memorial
Townhall.com ^ | November 10, 2011 | Kate Hicks

Posted on 11/10/2011 7:12:04 PM PST by Kaslin

I wish I could say I'm surprised, but honestly, I'm not.

Occupy Wall Street -- located mere blocks from the World Trade Center, and consequently, the 9/11 memorial -- has defaced the memorial honoring the thousands who died there ten years ago. As a result of the recent violence, sexual assault, and vandalism, Manhattan's most elite squad of homocide detectives has been assigned to monitor the protesters camped in Zuccotti Park.

The NYPD has moved three elite Manhattan homicide detectives and a deputy chief to the raucous Occupy Wall Street protest in response to a rash of sex attacks, thefts and vandalism -- including graffiti scrawled on the nearby 9/11 Memorial, The Post has learned.

The detectives, who began working cases at the park two weeks ago, are also investigating two acts of vandalism on the 9/11 Memorial.

In the first, a heart was etched near a name on the bronze memorial. Cops suspect the perpetrator may have been a family member of a victim.

And last week, a drawing of a skull was found on the memorial. Both marks were removed.

They have reason to suspect that OWSers are behind the latter instance of vandalism.

When the protests began, the members claimed that their goal was to raise awareness about the plight of the "99%." They said they were doing this for the ordinary Americans harmed by evil Wall Street greed. In a misguided way, they claimed to be patriots.

The "occupiers" actions in recent weeks, however, have put that assertion to bed. Turns out, combatting corporate greed was just a great excuse to throw a party in the streets!

Ordinarily, the unserious behavior exhibited by so many "occupiers" -- the drum circles, the open-air sex, the "human microphone," and "consensus-building-by-twinkles" -- would simply be cause for laughter. But the revelry's gone too far.

Whatever good intentions some of those original "occupiers" may have harbored have been stamped out by crime. Now, there is something maliciously farcical about this protest. What was once a camp-out to "raise awareness" -- albeit of a stance based on false premises -- has become a veritable slum.

The reports of rape, theft, and death illustrate the kind of degenerates that the protest has attracted -- and now, the vandalized 9/11 memorial. I'd be hard-pressed to think of a more disrespectful act toward the innocents who lost their lives in the most brutal attack conducted on American soil.

These "occupiers" hold nothing sacred beyond their own desires. Whatever credibility anyone could have attributed to the "occupation" at its start has long since exhausted itself. Their absurd demands, coupled with their reprehensible behavior, show them for what they really are. Occupy Wall Street is hardly a profound movement calling for necessary social change. It's a kegger gone violently wrong.

When the Tea Party didn’t shout racial epithets and didn’t threaten anybody, Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party were furious. Now that these OWS dirtballs are raping, pillaging, plundering, and hurling antisemitic epithets, the Democrats turn a blind eye. Not that anyone is surprised at the hypocrisy.

I know nothing of this "Kate Hicks," but is she as vapid and shallow as this article illustrates? If so, I guess Townhall is slipping beneath the waves.

But Bloomberg absolutely owns this.

Bozo the Clown could run against him and simply show continuous OWS footage in his campaign ads and wouldn’t have to say one word but I bet he would win by a landslide.

whatever happened to firehoses??? don’t have to use the high pressure hoses to blast them with, just a constant heavy rain type of soaking. It wouldn’t take too long to become very uncomfortable....24/7 of that would get their attention

Sneetches.

OWS are the starless sneetches. Rich liberals are the starred sneetches. They just think they are protesting something else.

A steamroller could easily solve a lot of these problems.

Flail tank, faster, better armored. Shoots them with the main gun, uses the flails to reduce protesters to the consistency of a nice chunky salsa. Then runs them over with a tank. Because there is no kill like overkill.

A far better way to clean out the OWS scum — an M67A1 flame tank or M132A1 APC with an M10-8 flame gun. Nothing like crispy critters on a cold December morning. It's like nuts roasting on an open fire.

Napalm in the morning . . . it smells like . . . victory.

I prefer a bayonet on an M-14, makes it more personal and they really get the point.(damn, I just made a funny). I had to see and hear these same ass-hats when I got home the first time in 1969 then again in 1972. I was kind of hoping I’d be dead before the cockroaches crawled out of the base boards again.

Except for a mention on Oct 18 by the NY Post regarding another defacing incident on this memorial, the only mentions of the incident(s) are on line blogs.

Thew liberal MSM has gone totally silent on these creeps.

Occupy Wall Street -- located mere blocks from the World Trade Center, and consequently, the 9/11 memorial -- has defaced the memorial honoring the thousands who died there ten years ago.

Is that surprising? One of their leaders, cut and run Paul says 9/11 was America's fault. The surrender monkey and his OWS followers want to destroy America, so the memorial is a realistic target.

Unfortunately for us, one of the Bozos will be the Manhattan Borough President, who loves OWS and appointed the members of Community Board 1, the self-important lefties who stubbornly support the cesspool that is right in their own neighborhood.

If any proof were needed that community boards are not the voice of the community, these people are Exhibit A.

Please “occupiers” stay as long as you like, deface whatever you’d like to, riot, scream, stink.....You are “Obama’s Brats” and you will help remove him from office.

I don’t believe that.

My perception is that most of the people in that city are sympathetic to the OWS and the Muzloids that destroyed lower Manhattan and 3000 lives.

Yes, they are his brats, and they will help to re-elect him. Most of them will vote at least twice - at least once in the cities where they are attending college, and at least once by absentee ballot in their home towns.

The neo-Bolsheviks have achieved critical mass. I fear that dislodging them at this point will require more than the average American has the stomach to do.

Most people will just complain and return to their favorite entertainment and recreational beverage/drug. As long as they can be entertained and drugged, the people won’t do anything. The neo-Bolsheviks know this and work it to their great advantage.

Not only vapid and shallow, but incoherent and disjointed (and she can’t even spell “homicide” correctly even when it is spelled correctly in the original story she herself quotes!).

If you were going to post on this topic, which is an important one, you should have posted from the source, the New York Post, instead of the regurgitated blog.

Here is the link to the original source:

MUCH more informative.
