Why Perry's Campaign Is Not Quite Dead Yet
FOX NEWS ^ | 11.10.11 | Kevin McCullough

Posted on 11/10/2011 7:15:11 PM PST by jodiluvshoes

The five reasons I asserted that Governor Perry would have the best shot at beating Obama were simple ones: He decisively created more jobs than Obama. He greatly respects and tries to encourage small businesses. He has a clear understanding of federalism and what states shouldn't be forced into. He has solid core convictions that replicate most of America. And he could unite the core conservative Democrats, Republicans and Independents across the nation on economic, social and defense policy.

All five of those reasons remain -- even now -- solidly relevant and valid.

However, he's certainly nowhere near where I thought he'd be by now. But before all the pundits completely write him off, let me proffer the four things he's got to do to get back in the game.

Herman didn’t create jobs. He axed jobs to restore a miniscule profitability to Godfathers.

....thus making the tough decisions to save the jobs of those who stayed with the company. I've been there....sometimes this is what you have to do.

“Under Cain’s leadership, Godfather’s closed approximately 200 restaurants and eliminated several thousand jobs, and by doing so returned to profitability” (Less that 2%)

Easy to revive Perry:

Apology and retraction for the "Heartless" moment.

See a good shrink (like me (ret)) and get treated for performance anxiety...

Consider a cabinet appointment.

I like Perry, but Cain is my first choice, and I think Perry can't make it this time.

However, he's certainly nowhere near where I thought he'd be by now.

And for good reason - his views on illegal immigrants/criminals, or "undocumented workers" as he calls them, do not resonate with the American public, even less so in this economy.

I still can't believe he was pushing work visas for the criminals last week. He's bold, there is no doubt about that.

Cain became CEO of Godfather’s Pizza. Cain arrived on April 1, 1986, and told employees, “I’m Herman Cain and this ain’t no April Fool’s joke. We are not dead. Our objective is to prove to Pillsbury and everyone else that we will survive.”

But you mock the same attitude from Perry.

Pillsbury lost there ass on the deal.
They had bought Godfathers for 300 mil.

In the end the sold it to Cain and some others for 30 mil.

OK, Mr. McCullough; you have proffered your “Four things” Perry has to do to get back in the game. However, it’s too little, too late. It’s over. Get over it and move on. Rick Perry is Texas Toast. I do know he had back surgery a short-time back. Could he be on some heavy pain meds? I mean, every Debate a disaster and that bizarre speech in NH where folks thought he was drunk. Something is seriously wrong here.

And just what in the hell does that have to do with government, other than show Cain knows how to run a private business.

Wonder how many Harvard MBAs were involved on the 300M end of the deal?

Seems like Cain et al got a decent deal.
