Serial child sex abuse; what could Sandusky's wife have known?

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- Chattanooga native Dorothy 'Dottie' Gross Sandusky not only has been her husband Jerry's partner in life, and in the raising of six adopted children; but also in his 'Second Mile' charity.
Pennsylvania prosecutors allege the former Penn State defensive coordinator used Second Mile to find, groom and rape at least six young boys between 1994 and 2009.
Some of the alleged attacks are believed to have occurred in the couple's home.
So how, many ask, could Dottie Sandusky not have known?
"I've seen it both ways," clinical social worker Farlie Chastain says. "In which the family knows and is in denial."
"Because these people are good," Nurse Practitioner Allyson Neal says. "They are what you want them to be at any given moment."
"Very good at hiding it from everyone," Chastain says. "Very good at seducing the child and manipulating the child not to tell."

Very difficult to believe she had never been told, but easy to believe that she never believed it.
Just saying, these people know how society feels about them, so they get very good at hiding the monster within.
It’s tempting to try to spread the blame, because the blame just seems too huge to be borne by just one person, but that’s the truth of the matter; The blame rests with the one evil person committing the evil.
None of us can be held accountable for not being mind readers.

Yeah, but if you see something, or have reason to even believe something is going on and don’t do or say anything, that makes you just as sick as the person doing the evil deed.
How can anyone turn a blind eye to that and be able to sleep at night is beyond my comprehension.
I agree. It serves no purpose to witch-hunt for more people to blame. If anything, the wife is just another victim of the pedophile.
One can go through life with many secrets, that is why they are called secrets. Would you tell your wife that you were molesting children?
I mean I feel it was unlikely she never was told, in this case, by one or more of the unfortunate children who reportedly underwent molestation. I don’t mean fessed up by Sandusky to his wife.
If you can bear to look, what do you think of this mess.
I agree. If you know, and don't make sure it stops, you're guilty!
But you can't hold people who don't know accountable for the actions of others.

I just read a Stephen King short story based on BTK where this serial murder’s wife discovers his wife is a serial killer after many years.
You don’t become a child molester in your 50’s, you get caught in you 50’s.

None of us actually know what has happened. So, just to be a Devil’s Advocate: One of legal truisms is that a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich. The accused has no defense, no witnesses and no evidence. Accusations are uncorroborated. There is no cross-examination.
The accused has six children, one a Marine. They range from 48 years old to younger ages. Their bedrooms must have been located where they could have heard their father tip-toeing down to the downstairs room. Women and Marines hear anything in the night. All six have said their father has been a moral person and a leader.
Hundreds of people, including PSU players and charity leaders vouch for him.
When the defense lawyers are done, the accusers won’t even know their own names.
Everybody thinks the accused is guilty. If we could bet on things like this, $20 at 100-1 would be a good bet.
