A word about Romney
vanity | Nov 12, 2011 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 11/12/2011 1:29:02 PM PST by Jim Robinson

RINO.

Three words: liberal progressive RINO.

Add a fourth, fifth, sixth, etc: unprincipled, untrustworthy, flip-flopper, aisle-crossing, fraud, liar, political whore.

And a few more: abortionist, gay rights panderer, gun-grabber, global warming advocate, big government mandate lover, socialist healthcare pusher, constitution trampling, liberal judge appointing, TARP loving, bailout loving, stimulus pushing Keynesian statist.

That my friends, is no definition of conservative or of conservatism. Not even close. In fact it's the exact opposite.

Free Republic is and will remain an exclusive pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-constitution, pro-small government, pro-capitalism, pro-defense, pro-borders, grassroots patriotic conservative site, regardless of party politics.

I support the Republican party as long as it promotes positions and candidates that I can agree with. The current party platform is a pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-constitution, pro-small government, pro-capitalism, pro-defense, pro-borders, patriotic, traditional conservative platform. When they formally (or informally) start knocking out or ignoring traditional conservative foundational planks so they can run liberal progressive RINOS then they have lost me. It won't be that I've left the Republican party, the Republican party will have left me.

Some people say FR is a cult. Well, I don't know about that, but I'll be damned if we're going to change our core principles and values so that we can support a man who has spent a political lifetime trying to run to the left of Ted Kennedy.

Every one of his leftist positions listed above are documented on the video linked below, which is a compilation of about a dozen debates and other Romney appearances where he vehemently advocates and defends his leftist positions and ideals:

Romney in his on words

Watch it all the way through. If he becomes the Republican nominee, I can guarantee you you will see these clips and more like them, over and over again on national TV. Romney is totally untrustworthy. And it's all documented in living color.

Yeah, I know. He's changed. He's now a life-long hunter who's always been pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government. And "most of his positions, all of them actually, have always been conservative." Just ask him. And that's the point. He's changed his mind, or at least, he's changed his political platform. And he'll change his mind again tomorrow. He'll continue changing his mind to match the current political winds. That's what unprincipled, untrustworthy, lying political whores do. It's in the nature of the beast.

Romney was out front pretending to support McCain/Palin in 2008, while his staffers were sabotaging the campaign from within and without.

America can thank Romney for Obama. There will be no forgiving, no forgetting, and no mercy.

The electorate may not be as conservative as this Forum. We could be severely disappointed next year.

I understand the “fight for the soul” of the party thinking. If we can not elect a conservative after 4 years of this O’conomy, then we never will.

Specter was a Senator in PA for forever and a day, but I never voted for him. But I do not place Romney on par with a lib like Specter. Romney is 1000 times better than Obama. Even though I am for Newt, I will gladly vote for Romney if nominated.

The Forum is more conservative than the electorate. We could very well be disappointed with the outcome.

Romney can't win without the conservative base. No Republican candidate can.

not wishing to be pedantic, but that first picture shows a rack of air rifles not firearms.

I know. Couldn't find a photo of Romney anywhere near firearms.

The Forum is more conservative than the electorate.

That's because the electorate is generally uninformed. They are basically conservative but have no access to truth.

The liberal media is pushing Mitt like there is no tomorrow.

Why?

Because they know that they can destroy him. Mormon, flip-flopper, RomneyCare, the whole shootin' match. All these things could individually bring him down. All these things together? 4 more years of Obama, guaranteed.

This election determines the future of our country. We cannot have Romney or Obama - either one means country suicide.

Does this mean a second Obama term?

Our country is in dire straights. This next election may be the “deal breaker”. You need to be concerned.

I can understand that.

Those things are dangerous and I stay away from them too.

Why should we assume that Romney will be our nominee? Because the liberal media says so? The reason the media is pushing that LIE so hard is because they know he will lose against Obama. A solid conservative would beat Obama in a landslide.

It's the same song & dance they gave us with McCain, Dole, etc. Not only do they end up not attracting swing voters (ask yourself, why would ANYONE vote for candidates with no solid principles?), and the conservative base also stays home. Not falling for it again.

Thanks for getting rid of the romneybots, but we have been getting a few trolls from huntsman lately. They don’t really bother me too much and I guess they serve as a reminder of the flawed thinking of the ‘progressive’ GOP wing.

" Some people say FR is a cult."

Yeah, well tell them to blow it out their ear and go get an education. Long before the word "cult" had a pejorative connotation it had a very particular and positive meaning when related to religion, and the very earliest usage was to designate an elite group of folks who shared common beliefs. I think FR fits the bill as an elite group with shared beliefs quite well.

JMHO
