Now that Wisconsin allows people to carry concealed guns, here's one thing you might want to know: That includes your home. That means that everyone from the Mary Kay lady to the plumber can come into your home packing heat, unless you tell them they can't, or unless you post a sign.
The law, which allows people to apply for licenses to carry concealed guns, knives, Tasers and billy clubs, went into effect on Nov. 1.
People who oppose the law -- according to some polls they make up the majority of the state -- might be put off at having to stick a sign on their door to keep guns out of the home. But I think it beats having to tell everyone who comes to the door that they need to put their gun in the car.
So I'm going to buy a sign, which are being sold at the Madison City Clerk's office in Room 103 of the City-County Building at 210 Martin Luther King Blvd., from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The sign, a 5-inch-by-7-inch vinyl sticker, costs $5.
"I would say we're probably selling at least five to 10 a day," says Elena Berg in the City Clerk's office. "Mainly businesses, but some are going on homes as well."

There are also plenty of stores and online vendors selling no-gun signs, but a lot of them are aluminum, which are difficult to mount, and most of them cost more than the city is asking.
Besides, I think it will look good above the "No Solicitors" sign on the the door, although that one hasn't proven to be terribly effective.
Don’t post a sign just to keep them guessing ... do they have firearms or don’t they ....
The burden remains on the homeowner to prove someone has entered their property with a firearm. If it’s concealed the ONLY way they would know is if you volunteer the information or submit to a search.
Stupid on a level that can’t be imagined by rational people.
I had a cop tell me once that leaving my door unlocked was really dangerous. I just smiled and agreed. We carefully never established WHO it would be dangerous for. ;)

What a great idea! I hope every libtard in the country puts up one of these signs in front of their house. The boys in the “hood” would really appreciate it!
Only an idiot would feel safer notifying criminals that they are unarmed.

If a private business chooses not to want guns on their property, I figure that is their concern. I, in turn have the right not to spend a penny in those places. As for homeowners, as other FRiends have noted here, why would anyone put up a sign that all but says “I don’t have any means of defending myself, come on in!” ?

Of course, that dog could very well have been the first dog in history to have annoyed someone to death.
