FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Police in North Carolina were investigating Sunday after two students were robbed by several gunmen in a dorm room at Fayetteville State University.
WRAL-TV reported four to six men with guns knocked on a dorm room door at around 2:00am local time, university spokesman Jeff Womble said. When the two students answered, a physical altercation ensued.
Shots were fired, damaging some furniture in the room, but no one was struck. The two students were injured during the altercation, Womble said.
One of the students was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition, and the other was treated at the scene.
The gunmen stole about $500 in cash, a debit card, a computer and clothes.
Fayetteville State University Police are investigating the incident with assistance from the Fayetteville Police Department.

Kids must have done something to piss someone off.
How would the gun men know which room had $500 and which room had a pile fast food trash wrappers and a mountain of dirty laundry?
Having $500 cash in Fayetteville is like having $5000 anywhere else. Never even heard of Fayetteville State University.
FSU and the Murk - a no win situation.
“Gunmen assaulted two Fayetteville State University students in their dorm room early Sunday in the fourth armed robbery at student housing since last school year.
Fayetteville police are also investigating a shooting at a restaurant near campus Saturday evening in which no one was injured.”

I guess the gunmen missed the “No Guns” signs.
Maybe if the signs were bigger...and a lot more of them too.
One of the old "Negro" universities.
Gun laws are for the law abiding citizen, no the criminal.
Drugs. Six armed guys going to a specific dorm room? Here’s a hint.....be careful about opening your door at 2am.
I’m thinking drugs too. In fact, one particular room out of all the dorm rooms, multiple thugs, $500.00 taken, TV set taken... Sounds like someone in that room owed some money to somebody, so they came and collected on the debt.
Oops, not a TV taken, a computer.
Who is Sunday and what makes him a suspect?
Fayetteville State is a “HBCU” - historically black college or university. Some of them are excellent schools. Some...aren’t. When I lived in Columbia, South Carolina there were two of them in town (Allen University and Benedict College, across the street from each other) and they had constant serious problems with crime, some of it violent. I don’t know if FSU has ongoing problems with crime over and above any other university, though. But Fayettenam can be pretty rough in spots.
