That Rino has the most conservative track record on the stage.

I'll say one thing for your man, Newt: at least he has the class and the honor not to attack the other Republican candidates. He knows that they all have a common opposition in Obama.

He needs a better class of supporters, though.

I wish it was that simple. Even you’re tired, you still have to have a clear head on you. The Presidency is the most demanding and stressful job in the world. Being a CEO doesn’t prepare one for the most powerful position earth. And this is not a pageant people are running for. If they don’t appreciate the stakes involved, they should quit their campaign.

And calling fair criticism a hit piece shows that Cain supporters can’t evaluate his candidacy in an objective light.

I don't understand how it's a hit piece just by asking him his impression of Obama's Libya policy. What are we supposed to ask him - his favorite cereal? His favorite Four Tops song? Frankly, it's embarrassing to see people ignore his glaring faults. It's amazing to me how so many on FR find their guy and just ignore any evidence that he or she might have a flaw, and become blinkered cheerleaders. I'm probably for Newt right now, but I'm painfully aware of his myriad flaws.

Basically, all of our choices for Republican nominee suck pretty bad, and we have to choose the least sucky.

I like them but they have no chance of winning the nomination.

They are good guys with strong core conservative values and its not fair that a liberal pretender snake oil salesman could wind up being our party’s presidential nominee.

The good news is that none of them suck as bad as Obama.

That was my point. He sounds like he’s not prepared to be President.

Listen they all suck but we’re going to have to accept the fact we’ll have to live with a less than ideal candidate if there is an outside chance of stopping Slick Willard.

If people don’t like that, well that’s exactly what Romney is counting on here.

I don’t think Gingrich or Romney has chance against Obama. It’s the “second best swordsman in France” principle. This is just who the first best swordsman in France is prepared to duel. Cain is a wild card, and is the only one with a chance IMHO.

Obama, too. All of these people threatening to not vote or vote third party or whatever if AwesomeFavoriteCandidate isn't the choice...ugghh, what do you say to someone that wants to hand Obama another four years - and a term where he doesn't have to worry about being re-elected either. Ugggh.

Allowing any rapist, serial killer, drug lord, bar room brawler, or pimp to come and go as they please into the United States from any third world hellhole on the planet is “Conservative” in the eyes of Romney and Perry supporters, but no one else.

No sale.

Agree 100% ...sad to see the media pulling the usual “gotcha” stuff on such a decent man; worse that some on FR are all too willing to fall their slings and arrows and statements taken out of context.

The Fed doesn’t enforce the border.
We put them in jail and send the Fed a bill.

Try to keep up.

"I wish there was good news for next year.

Well in terms of which GOP candidate get elected president there is some good news, kindof. Within the next 60 days to maybe 12 months from now the laws of economics are going to catch up with the USA and there is little to nothing that the President or Congress or the Fed can do about it. Once math takes over you can forget politics, staying alive will be a full time job.

I agree with you on Newt having the intelligence not to attack the other Republican candidates. One of the things I like the best about Newt is his intelligence and grasp of the issues. I also admire his ability to respond so quickly and incisively to the essence of the issue in a debate format.

I remain unhappy with his personal life, however.

Romney certainly has the “presidential look” about him, and seems to have a personal life that is admirable, but is too attached to the “network”, if you get my drift. He seems to be the one they all want. And after they get him to be the pubbie candidate, they will go after the Morman thing.

That disgusts me, as most of us know how easily the “electorate” can be manipulated into suspicion of the “different”. All the MSM needs to do is start wondering about his undergarments, for crying out loud, and there goes his candidacy!

I am not sure Romney has a strong enough character to go up against the lobbys and congress, even though he is good in an individual business situation.

Cain is interesting to me, because he has had to struggle all his life against the stream, and he has managed to succeed in a world that doesn’t accommodate minorities who do not perform. (Unlike Obammy and Colin Powell, who came up within systems obliged to promote by quotas)

And, sad as it is, the best way to defeat Obama is by selecting a minority who can run rings around him, in every way. Cain has proven his worth, and scares the bejeebers out of the deems, because he takes away the race card.

You all know how the deems love to toss that down, don’t you?

What makes me sad about Cain is that I do not think he deserves the awful cr@p that has come, and will come his way - just because he is totally qualified to be a conservative candidate, and one that all of us would be proud to support to defeat the Obamanites.

Cain really is a decent man, however, and I do not wish the next four years on any conservative, for the problems faced by this country really ought to stay right in the lap of the bunch that have caused them, and that is not the conservatives.

Maybe we should all get behind the big O and make sure he gets the blame for the total collapse, and not a conservative?

Now I am getting depressed and desperate, because I can’t see a way out of our economic mess, never mind the winds of war, which are beginning to whisper around the corners of Europe and the near east.

I guess it is time to go to bed, and do some serious praying, but I fear it is way too late. As Pogo said....
