Give me a break. I do it all the time. I grew up in the 80's and they were Russians. I was in basic in '90 and we threw grenades and shot at "Ivan" and he was Russian.

If Rick Perry was the CEO of Whataburger it might mean something but he's not, he's an ex Air Force Captain having served all over the world. He's the CEO of the 15th largest economy in the world, larger than India's. He's helped create an environment in Texas that has created 40% of all jobs created since the Obama experiment.

Rick Perry has a record to back up his rhetoric and he isn't out hugging trees and telling pro abort groups "You need someone like me in the Whitehouse."

Worse...he misquoted Reagan, saying "RUSSIA would end up in the ash heap of history". Painful.

The cold war was with the USSR. Russia plus all the eastern block they controlled.

While the correct term was “The Soviet Union” or “USSR”, I’ll give him a pass on this, as, the colloquial term even back then was simply “Russia” or “Moscow.”
