Does a Full-Time Homemaker Swap Her Mind for a Mop?
Jewish World Review ^ | 11-15-11 | Dennis Prager

Posted on 11/15/2011 11:54:18 AM PST by ReformationFan

I periodically write and regularly broadcast about male-female issues because I want to help men and women, especially husbands and wives, get along better. But I have developed a secondary reason: to elicit left-wing reactions. They reveal an enormous amount about how the left thinks. For example, one of the biggest left-wing websites (Daily Kos) wrote that "Dennis Prager advocates marital rape." Why? Because I wrote a column in which I suggested that if a woman loves her husband, and if he is a loving and good man, she might not want to be guided solely by "mood" in deciding whether and when to have sex with him. And just a few weeks ago, the same website declared me a misogynist for my column on what I believe to have been four negative legacies of feminism for women. I actually wrote the column on behalf of women, yet I was labeled a misogynist. Why? Because I suggested that feminist pressure on women to emphasize career over finding a husband, career over marriage and career over child rearing has not been good for most women or for society. That means, according to the Daily Kos writer, that "basically Prager is upset with contemporary women because they seek a life beyond being confined to domestic space and swapping their brains for a mop." To suggest that children benefit from having a full-time parent — which will usually be the mother — is, in the eyes of the dominant intellectual culture, equivalent to advocating suppression of women and "swapping their brains for a mop." The left views full-time homemakers as individuals who, because of patriarchy and other nefarious forces, have abandoned their minds to the lowest intellectual activity the human being can engage in: homemaking.

No one asked you to police it. But you clearly don’t have problems publicly complaining about others who view the forum differently. And you also don’t seem to have a problem with name calling and insults.

I will follow the rules and guidelines of Jim’s web site while I am here. If I don’t, I expect to get called out on it.

I have a problem with other Freepers who think of themselves has being superior enough to try to lord it over others and that they should be treated like mods, when they are not. Too many Freepers around here think like that, and you and your buddy are two of them.

And you bet I will insult those who try to call me a liar.

Conservatives are like that, and this is supposed to be a conservative site. Deal with it.

I am sorry you think of us as being superior. I don’t see that. I just try to remind other of what those guidelines and rules are when they don’t appear to be following them.

Can you show me where I called you a liar? You did that to me, although it wasn’t true.

Behold, your own posts:

“Some folks don’t bother to learn those and it is helpful to point it out to them if they want to stay.

“Some others don’t care about them and they are a pain in the behind.

“No, I had already figured out you were the later group.”

Not “caring” about them, as you characterize it, and being a “pain in the behind”, equals double posting.

No, it means not caring about the double posting. Read what I said, not what you tried to make it mean.

And arguing with people just trying to see the forum postings follow the rules and guidelines, is being a pain in the behind.

The insults and name calling are just personal attacks, also against the forum rules.

Did you find where you thought I called you a liar? Or did you confuse me with yourself?

Peter Gibbons: So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that’s on the worst day of my life.

And arguing with people who think they are the mods and aren’t, is a pain in the behind.

And people who can’t figure out where they are calling others names with falsehoods deserve to be called liars.

If you still don’t get that, re read the thread. Maybe it will come to you.

Falsehood?

Are claiming you DO care about multiple postings of the same article?

Did the persuasiveness of this exchange change your mind?

As you re-read through the thread, did you find where you mistakenly thought I called you a liar? Or did you actually confuse your own post as mine?

I am sorry that you find reading hard. Reading comprehension is even harder.

A variation of a tag line.

I don’t have the time to waste on this anymore.

You have a good night then.

You seem to be easily confused.

I’ll pray for you.
