Penn Police: McQueary Never Told Us Jack [Sandusky]
TMZ ^ | 11/16/11 | Staff

Mike McQueary never once went to the Penn State campus police OR the State College PD after witnessing Jerry Sandusky allegedly rape a 10-year-old boy in 2002 -- this according to reps for both departments.

According to CBS, neither police bureau has any record of being contacted by Mike McQueary -- despite recent claims McQueary made in an email ... "I did have discussions with police and with the official at the university in charge of police."

They’re all covering their asses. Fact: Some how a Center County (Where PSU main campus is located) Grand Jury was convened and heard the evidence. For the Campus Police, State College Police and/or PA State to try to claim they did not know about it is as credible as Sandusky’s denying he did anything wrong.

Some have already conjectured the judge who awared the no money bond—and who was a volunteer at Sandusky’s foundation—did so in the hope he would kill himself.

He may do that yet. But I think his being told by Paterno he would not succeed him as head coach may drive him to revenge first. Once he realizes he can’t just blow this off he will give up all his secrets. Unless some party or parties insure he cannot do so.

I think there may be some very powerful and rich people involved here. Is there a murderer among them? Time will tell.

Is anyone else wondering why Mike McQueary hasn’t been fired already?

Paterno DID say that he was told the contact was sexual. From the Grand Jury Presentment:

“Joseph V. Paterno testified to receiving the graduate assistant’s report at his home on a Saturday morning. Paterno testified that the graduate assistant was very upset. Patemo called Tim Curley (“Curley”), Penn State Athletic Director and Patemo’s immediate superior, to his home the very next day, a Sunday, and reported to him that the graduate assistant had seen Jerry Sandusky in the Lasch Building showers fondling or doing something of a sexual nature to a young boy.”

That is a puzzler to me, too.

I'm guessing he's getting immunity from the DA in return for his eye-witness testimony in open court. That's why there is no mention of arresting him.

Penn St. may be keeping him on staff to keep his mouth shut about all the other people who knew about Sandusky & for how long. It could gut the athletics dept.

It has been mentioned here that Penn St. has a very liberal attitude toward queers. It is likely that there has been far more going on in the showers & steam rooms - staff on staff, & staff on student, than just Sandusky. All those sweaty, half-naked bodies .... McQueary & others could probably write a very long book.

It wouldn't take much reporting of this to make Penn St. look like a cheap San Francisco bathhouse. That could bring the entire school down.

I do not envy the new president of Penn St. There must be an awful lot of his employees who know everything about the perversions in the athletics dept. & elsewhere in the system. If he starts firing every employee who knew about Sandusky & beyond, the tabloids are gonna have a bumper crop of tips, stories, & people wanting their 15 minutes of fame, & CASH.

Yep. There was another guy who came out today saying he was sexually abused by some professor there. He went to the administration about it and they refused to even listen to the guy, let alone investigate anything! And this guy has the professor on tape admitting it!

As I look across the room at my 10 year old son, I guarantee that we’d be talking about Sandusky in past tense and I would be proud to accept the legal ramifications.

Same here, I've got a terrific 12 year old son and nobody better mess with him. I remember from years ago how the father on this video handled the pervert that kidnapped and molested his son:

Father of Kidnapped Son gets Revenge

Jury gave the father 5 years probation.

Okay but wouldn’t the Police be involved are somehow notified about Victim#6 which would put Sandusky’s name on the police radar at that time? Certainly if McQueary notifies the police on a second case wouldn’t or shouldn’t that register BIGTIME on the police’s radar?

Your first post said that the District Attorney working Sandusky's case went missing in action; that police would have brought in to the case when the DA was working it; and that they should have been watching Sandusky like a hawk.

I mistakenly assumed you were attributing the disappearance of the DA (who was Ray Gricar) to Sandusky and a Penn State coverup. I simply pointed out the time lag - seven years between the 1998 investigation and Gricar's appearance.

I agree that law enforcement officials would have worked the 1998 investigation. According to the Grand Jury presentment, both the University Police and the State College Police were involved, as well as child welfare, and Penn State officials.

And according to the presentment, Penn State Director of Athletics Tim Curley and Senior Vice President of Business and Finance Gary Schultz knew about the investigation. In Schultz's testimony (but remember, he's been indicted for perjury, he said as if in defense that when he saw the 1998 investigation file and report in 2002, he was 'surprised' at how big it was.

So you would think that everybody would be watching Sandusky (and that Sandusky wouldn't have been allowed to bring a preteen boy as his 'date' to the Friday home game overnight's at Toftrees Golf Resort and Hotel Center).

But everybody looked the other way.

If McQueary had told the police, it should have registered big time. But Penn State told The Second Mile in 2002. It was at least the second time The Second Mile heard about Sandusky. And The Second Mile kept Sandusky around until 2010.

Given Sandusky's fame and prominence in Happy Valley, people didn't appear to want to believe or to take action against good old Jerry. I honestly don't know that the police would have been any different.

If the police were involved and were notified that a Penn State Staff member was accused of sexually abusing a child in the 90’s then wouldn’t it be fair to say that the police and the DA and the justice system wasn’t doing their jobs along with the Penn State faculty and Board of Trustees. I’m mean it appears that everyone who became aware of this case including the Police and DA FAILED!

I’m mean it appears that everyone who became aware of this case including the Police and DA FAILED!

I don't remember the name of the sports columnist who called this a conspiracy of cowardice, but his description was apt. It's staggering to think of the number of people and entire institutions that failed. Not institutions like Bob's Shop 'n Save Bait. Penn State, The Second Mile, two police departments, child welfare. Institutions responsible for youth and the protection of youth. It's hard to imagine that rumors didn't circulate.

The one guy I might give a slight pass to is DA Ray Gricar. Seriously. We don't know what evidence he had when he decided not to prosecute. We know that Victim #6 was not sexually assaulted according to the Grand Jury. When you read the accounts of Sandusky's relationships with the other victims, he built the physical relationship slowly from nonsexual touching, to noninvasive sexual touching, to invasive sex. Victim #6's mother caught it the first time Sandusky showered with the boy, and all that Sandusky did was to hug the boy, hold him under the shower nozzle, and shampoo his hair. I haven't looked at the statutory definition for various sexual offenses in Pennsylvania, but I doubt that is sufficient to get a conviction on anything. The investigation also involved a boy named 'B.J.' The presentment said that Sandusky's actions with B.J. were similar.

Unless the investigation by the two police departments and child welfare turned up another victim who was, in fact, sexually assaulted, I don't know that Gricar had anything to work with. Even child welfare only appears to have told Sandusky not to shower with boys. No other physical acts appear to have been disclosed during the 1998 investigation.

In one news account, Gricar's nephew said that Gricar "had a bitter taste in his mouth" for the Penn State program and Joe Paterno. Without much more than that, you get the idea that Gricar may have felt he was sandbagged or stonewalled by Penn State. On the other hand, somebody on FR pulled another case in which Gricar failed to prosecute a Penn State football player for indecent exposure, or something similar.

But Gricar may have been grinding his teeth when he dismissed charged against Sandusky. I'm not stating that as a fact, I'm just positing it. If all Gricar had to go on was showering with a boy, with no sexual contact, and Gricar was stonewalled by Penn State, then Gricar may not have been able to do anything but drop the prosecution. Because Gricar may not have had the elements of a case against Sandusky.

"My guess is that the whole athletic staff, local police, Penn State Administration, big alumni bunch, Two Mile management and a good percentage of Happy Valley are in on it and covering it up."

I think you are right. This is going to get a whole lot worse for Penn State before it gets any better. There will be rumors an innuendo all the way until Sandusky's criminal trial. Much more (victims, stories, claims, etc.) will come out between now and the trial. The trial will be a circus like the O.J., Casey Anthony, and Michael Jackson trials. There will be debates on indicting Joe Pa, Curry, and McQueary. Before the dust settles from any criminal trial, waves of civil suits will hit Sandusky, Paterno, and Penn State. Then the NCAA will come in and pick through the bones left from the various trials.

Penn State football recruiting has already cratered. This scandal is going to loom over the football program for the entire 2012 season, and its shadow will last many years after that. Five years from now, Penn State will be in the Big 10 cellar, and the reason will be Sandusky. And that assumes no NCAA penalties.
