Question please to a professional..........why does Ford insist on building hot cars, like the Mustang, with a straight rear axle instead of independent suspension?

In my area we have this joker that has a full race quarter mile engine in a camaro and he has exhaust cutouts, I swear someone is going to shoot that car.
One time I was tooling along on a rural road and it was coming at me full bore and almost knocked me off a Yamaha 1300cc cruiser bike with the noise, another time he was at a stop sign opposite of me and I was at work driving a concrete mixer with a new trainee with me, I knew what was going to happen, I rolled up my window really fast but still the noise was painful.

I have to honestly say that the macho wheel spinning muscle car bravado in your face attitude just doesn’t impress me, it might just be my age but what is the purpose here?

That look I can afford $5 a gallon of gas and everytime I do a full throttle I just spent $20 in fuel?

I just don’t quite get it, now if it ran on tap water and solar energy and had memory metal bodywork then yes I would be impressed. Its just another toy for those that can throw money away easily. Yes I would buy it, but I would park it in my garage and let it become a collectible in 10-20 years.
