"The evil men do lives after them...the good is oft interred with their bones." But for Watergate, Nixon would have had one of the most notable 8 year stays in office of the 20th century-- not orthodox conservative by any means, but centrist in the true sense of the word. It is a tragedy that he fell victim to his own flaws, and in the face of opportunistic hostile forces not totally of his own making. A tragedy not just for him but for the country as well.
