Sarah Palin Gets Subversive
Forbes ^ | November 18, 2011 | John McQuaid,

Posted on 11/18/2011 3:45:18 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

None of us can pretend to know what motivates Sarah Palin to do what she does. Sure, there’s money. And attention. And more money and attention. But today’s Palin op-ed goes in a different direction. Palin moves away from the pure cultural populism that has defined her since her run for the vice presidency and back toward the reformist populism that characterized her time as governor of Alaska. She turns her resentment away from cultural elites and focuses it on political elites of both parties, arguing – sensibly! – that being elected to Congress admits one to a veritable merry-go-round of special interest wealth and influence-peddling. She proposes reforms and even gives a shout-out to both the tea party and Occupy Wall Street movements:

“No more sweetheart land deals with campaign contributors. No gifts of IPO shares. No trading of stocks related to committee assignments. No earmarks where the congressman receives a direct benefit. No accepting campaign contributions while Congress is in session. No lobbyists as family members, and no transitioning into a lobbying career after leaving office. No more revolving door, ever.

This call for real reform must transcend political parties. The grass-roots movements of the right and the left should embrace this. The tea party’s mission has always been opposition to waste and crony capitalism, and the Occupy protesters must realize that Washington politicians have been “Occupying Wall Street” long before anyone pitched a tent in Zuccotti Park."

What’s surprising about this: Palin really is going it alone here. Among the major Republican presidential candidates and party establishment, and even tea party activists, this type of economic and good government populism barely exists....

A new show?

A new effort to jerk around supporters?

Tell us, do, what she's reconsidering!

If I send money will she tell me?

The author of the article is crazy when he says TEA Party and real conservatives don’t already agree with those ideas. She is not going out on a limb with those statements unless your a member of the established elite.

She is right, of course.

And one reason why I think she is the only person fit for the job is that she proved it when she ran for Governor of Alaska. She defeated the Republican Corrupt Bastards Club as well as the Corrupt Democrats, and she put her words into practice when she got in.

She was one of the very few politicians I have seen in my lifetime who not only cut back on spending at her level, but turned back Federal pork as well. How many state level politicians have done that? Even so-called conservative politicians?

It’s an excellent call to arms. I don’t see her “reconsidering” but I do see her affecting the debate in deep and meaningful ways.

She is going to have huge influence in the affairs of this country.

Look at how the term “crony capitalism” is now a staple of the debate.

Even the liberal media is using it... without attribution, of course, but so what.

John McQuaid, leftie shill, tries to marginalize and slime Sarah Palin and provoke strife among Republicans with a mudslinging article falsely claiming Sarah is changing position.

Screw him, Sarah has consistently been a crusader requiring honesty in government employees, from the very first. She never left this position.

And she's not running, so Rat shills are gonna have to come up with something else.

I know. Palin may Nixon her way back.

This might sound odd. But some gray hair and a few wrinkles 4 to 20 years from now would really help her look like a statesman and Presidential. She will always be a pretty lady. but too many people made too much about her appearance and it was so counter productive by no fault of her own.

Sarah Ping

There are Few people out there who can stick it to the Corrupt Technocrats that have plagued this country for so long, that is why my heart breaks every time I think about what Sarah would do with the Key Stone Pipeline.

But then It hits me that the Neo-Whigs would work against her just as hard as the Democrats would.

So, if the Not-so-GOP decides to Nominate Someone who is a Statist himself. Than I am Sure we haven't seen the last of Her.

Go Sarah, Go, and to Hell with the OWS Tools, the Libs and the Neo-Whigs.

No I dont think she is reconsidering. I think she had alot of personal reason for not running. Her other two daughters are approaching those all important teen years and taking care of a special needs child has challenges all it own. Reprising her 2010 role is a good thing for her to do. I have read a couple of Forbes articles on Sarah Palin and as usual the first couple sentences to so filled with metrosexuality that its difficult to get past that. At some point the Einsteins at Forbes need to admit that Sarah Palin has been 100% correct in everything she’s ever said about Obama and his administration while the so-called “smart” people even the conservative “smart” people were wrong.

Many of us thought she was going to run, and we were surprised when she didn’t. It could be that she figured out that the RINOS were not going to accept her or any other conservative, and if she ran and unfairly lost in the republican primary, it would pretty much exclude her running on a third party.

People always say that a third party is just a spoiler, and that Perot handed Clinton a win. If Perot hadn’t lost it at the end and gotten out and then back in, IMHO he would likely have won.

In a situation where you have Obama on the left and Obama “lite” on the right, she may very well pull it off.

I don’t like Trump that much, but he has a lot of money. He also knows business... A Palin/Trump ticket could kick A$$.

This current bunch of candidates looks worse by the day. Damn, I can't believe I once thought there was one or two that might make a good President. I guess, I was so damned anxious, I thought Bachmann or Caine or Perry or even Santorum might just might be someone I could proudly support and vote for. Every week they show us just how weak an uninformed they really are.

Everybody here is worrying who would be POTUS in Jan 2013, the global economy may not survive beyond summer of 2012. Problem is EU banking system is facing liquidity problems as losses mount from sovereign default. US banks will get dragged down with them because of their leveraged exposure. Fed will keep printing or accept a stock market meltdown. Guns, food, water, gold and even a getaway plan should be on hand for what is to come. If Black Swan event occurs and people dump paper currencies for hard assets, hyperinflation no matter what currency you own because the central banks of the world printed too much. Read what happen in Mexico and Argentina when the gov closed the banks and reset the currency. Financial storm clouds are what we are heading into, and it is already too late for the middle class no matter who is POTUS.

subversive?

That depends on your frame of reference.

Whether she ultimately acts subversively, depends upon the actions of the Republican Establishment. If they force a Romney nomination. She will be a subversive. Along with a lot of us.

Both parties are forewarned, the Tea Party is the essence of the US. It is not a political party, but it might destroy 2 of them.
