Herman Cain was the winner of a statewide presidential straw poll announced Saturday of all Missouri Tea Party members.
With 995 total votes counted statewide, Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich were virtually tied for second at 28 percent of the vote each.
Poll totals were: Herman Cain, 320 (32 percent); Ron Paul, 282 (28 percent); Newt Gingrich, 276 (28 percent); Mitt Romney, 32 (3 percent); Michele Bachmann, 31 (3 percent); Rick Perry, 30 (3 percent); Rick Santorum, 13 (1 percent); Others, 2 percent.
Philip Todd said the one-week poll was conducted between Nov. 10 and Nov. 17 throughout Missouri.
James Holland, a Callaway County Patriot Tea Party leader, said he was not surprised by the results or by the fact that Romney, a consistent front runner in many nationwide presidential polls, had only 3 percent of the vote in the statewide poll of Tea Party members.

Rick Perry 3%. Ouch!
If Cain is told to politically go to the back of the bus I hope he decides to start up a nationwide agenda of getting Constitution loyalists to sign up, to show our numbers.
America may need a nationwide militia to clean up this complete and total corruption of Washington.
Mitt Romney, 32 (3 percent)
Doesn’t quite add up, does it....mut be that new math and shiete.
mut = must
The only thing that makes sense to me is the powers that be figure mittens will be the last man standing. He still can’t beat Obozo.
I added it up and it comes out to 100%.
Herman Cain, 320 (32 percent); Ron Paul, 282 (28 percent); Newt Gingrich, 276 (28 percent); Mitt Romney, 32 (3 percent); Michele Bachmann, 31 (3 percent); Rick Perry, 30 (3 percent); Rick Santorum, 13 (1 percent); Others, 2 percent.
The Cain train keeps on chugging along!
despite the media’s best efforts, Cain is going to win this in a landslide.
Oops, my bad.
You’r right, I zigged whe I should have zagged.
Que the “Cain is leading in another poll!?” excuses:
“Its an old poll”
“It was done before the allegations of misconduct”
“It was done before the effects of the conduct started affecting him in the polls”
“Some of the early polling was done well before the effects of...”
Straw Polls are MEANINGLESS!!! (Unless Newtie wins...)
I voted in this straw poll and it wasn’t easy. These 900+ people were really dedicated! LOL!
Nothing against Herman; save his lack of experience - and knowledge, for that matter - (we do not have time for in-office training/education) and for his not handling well, the attempts by Opposition to bring scandal to his door. (Do not ascribe guilt here; just did not like his answers per 'handling'.)
Mostly; again; he is a Presidential 'rookie'. And want the best/brightest and most experienced, in these most critical times.
Mitt and Rick and Rick can’t even combine into a major candidate
Mitt Romney cannot pretend to have any TEA Party support, the conservative base is not going to even give him tepid support. If he is the nominee he can’t win.
Mitt and Rick and Rick have no TEA Party support -- not in this poll, anyway.
Problem solved. You're welcome. ( ^ ;P
Herman Cain will be quite a refreshment to the people of this Country. The Left and the Right will do everything they can to stop him. My vote is Cain and it stays there. The Establishment can get bent.
lol! I could live with that.
Yes he would.
Herman Cain = the anti-RINO!
I like that pic. A properly placed arrow can bring down the biggest of RINO’S.
Mitt in the single digits. We don’t want him, we really don’t.
I just love that pic!
So do I. When I first created it the DUmmies at DU questioned its authenticity and made complete fools of themselves in the process. Apparently, they thought I was trying to pass it off as a real pic of Herman Cain having killed a Rhino. lol! Eventually one pointed out what RINO means. What kooks.
I know liberals are stupid but I had no idea they were that stupid. lol!
Par for the course from those mental toads over at the DUmp South. They are complete socialist idiots.
lol! Yes DUmmies are some of the stupidest people on the planet. I believe it was you who pointed that thread out. Thanks again. It's still good for a few laughs.
“...Doesnt quite add up, does it...”
Herman Cain, 320 (32 percent);
Ron Paul, 282 (28 percent);
Newt Gingrich, 276 (28 percent);
Mitt Romney, 32 (3 percent);
Michele Bachmann, 31 (3 percent);
Rick Perry, 30 (3 percent);
Rick Santorum, 13 (1 percent);
Others, (2 percent)
Sounds like it all adds up to me.
Tea Partiers relegated also-ran Rick Perry to the back of the pack. He managed a meager 30 votes------coming in almost last.
B-U-T shades of the Iowa Straw Poll----Perry's sap-happy handlers are sending out announcements saying "Rick won."
Anita baked him a cow pattie cake---spelling out "congratulations" on top using BBq'ed chicken livers.
LOL. . .
‘Well you’ve got to like this part...
Mitt Romney, 32 (3 percent)’
That is what I have been saying. These other polls about Mitt being at 23% are pure BS. I think back to when Pat Buchanan won the first two state primaries that were hand ballots. Somehow the following primary states had electronic ballots which Pat lost. Hmmmmmm!
dennisw guarantees that Ricardo will win in November 2012. How will that happen with 3 percent of votes. Some people will STILL be delusional and ignorant and quite frankly, STUPID believing he is the be all end all. What a bunch of trash these folks are.
Problem solved. You’re welcome.’
Amen!!! Having Newt on the ticket would solve the BS ‘no foreign experience’ issue.
3% was a statement. We don't want you Rick.
Not a problem LVR. :-)
I pray daily for Cain to be our President in 2012. Glad to see you are on the Cain Train. Things will be so much better with him as President. I love the 999 proposal by the way. I think he is the most intelligent person in the race. PLEASE VOTE FOR CAIN 2012!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!
Just damn, that is too mucking futch....my sides are hurtin!!!
3% for Bachmann? Looks as if the Tea Partiers and conservatives are wise to running interference for Romney.
“...take me to the wood shed and beat me forever more...”
I somehow just don’t think that such drastic action is called for in this particular instance.
Phew, I was sweating it for a minute there, thanks!
LOL, just some Sunday afternoon humor to lighten the load!!
My nerves are shot.
My sense of humor is beginning to vanish.
It is going to be a interesting time for the next 12 months.
Gov GoodHair is plotting his comeback as we speak. He will come back the same way McCain was really out of the Republican nomination race and came back......Unfortunately he then proceeded to throw the election to Jug Ears
“These other polls about Mitt being at 23% are pure BS”
Before everyone gets too excited, the polls showing Romney at 23% are “scientific, random samplings” of the general public. This Tea Party Patriot poll was limited to a very specific slice of the voting public, i.e., 900 members of the MO Tea Party Patriots. It’s of no more value in a national election than leading in a FR or any other online poll.
23% may not be much, but if the remaining 77% is divided among the remaining conservative candidates, with Ron Paul siphoning off a respectable %, it’s enough for Romney to win the nomination. These national polls are viewed as “pure BS” at the peril of Cain, Gingrich, Perry, Bachmann, Santorum and their supporters. The candidates and their campaign teams are far too savvy for that.
