Commander of Iranian revolutionary guards' aerospace division says it is one of Iran's 'biggest wishes' that Israel do attack, so that the 'enemy of Islam and Muslims' can be discarded.
In case of an attack on the Iranian nuclear sites, "Iran would bung Israel into the trash bin of history," a general of the Iranian revolutionary guards (IRGC) said Monday.
"It is actually one of our biggest wishes that the Zionists regime [Israel] would make such a move," Amir Ali-Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC aerospace department, told Fars news agency.

Goliath thought he was hot stuff, too.
They don’t lack for bluster, do they?
I don’t think the IAF has the resources to severely cripple Iran’s nuclear program. Whatever damage they do will only delay things for the short term, unless the U.S. responds to Iran’s lashing out with additional airstrikes.
God will keep the covenant He has made with Israel.
He has, that fulfillment is His Son Jesus Christ.
Technically, the Covenant was made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob... Deut 31:20 "When I have brought them to the land flowing with milk and honey, of which I swore to their fathers..."
While physical Israel was a shadow and type that ended in the Resurrection of our LORD (and visibly in 70AD), the land that they sought is in Heaven (see Hebrews 11:8-9, vv 13-16)
Try reading Ezekiel 38. God is not done with Israel yet
Folks ought to read their history and pay attention to whats happened to nations that tried to screw with the Jews. It hasnt really worked out all that well over time. The greatest nation on earth at one time was eqypt, now its a cesspit. Look at Spain, the ottoman empire, Nazi Germany, and the 1967 war. Fill in the blanks because there are dozens more examples.
That is a downright silly statement because you must use weasel words (aka "screw with") that have whatever meaning you want it to have and vary dramatically according to context. Also, "over time". Is that immediately? Because you will have a devil of a time trying to explain how Babylon lasted a couple of generations before being bested by the Medes when they utterly destroyed Jerusalem. Dittos with Rome which lasted for centuries later.
If you extend the window of time, then you have problems explaining how, out of 190 nations, the GDP of Egypt ranks around 40th, or when comparing GDP (PPP) how Germany ranks 17th among all nations way ahead of even Israel. Even Spain and Italy are doing better than Israel in GDP per person. Doesn't sound like Quatar (#1), Kuwait (#5) or UAE (ahead of the US) are doing so bad for their Muslim population.
In fact, the Muslim demographic is the fastest growing among all peoples, cultures and religion, while the West, a traditional ally of Israel is dying in every possible metric. The Palestinians have been harassing Israel for generations yet their population, land size and influence grows all while Israel shrinks.
You have a screwed up history book, or you are just making things up to satisfy a feeling you want to have.
Try reading Ezekiel 38. God is not done with Israel yet
I have practically memorized Ezekiel 38, and if you have read commentaries and sermon notes on those passages for the last several centuries, you would quickly note that the Futurist's interpretation is not found until the last century. IOW, the Futurist's view is unorthodox, and demonstrably heretical - it is about as authentic and doctrinally harmonious as Mormonism or the faith system of the Jehovah Witness.
If you studied Issac Newton's work, or that of any of the Historisists, you would note that the argument is between it being fulfilled in Cambyses, king of Persia, or in Antiochus Epiphanes, king of Syria - both centuries before the incarnation of our LORD - not yet future battle.
Though the passages fit these scenarios far better than some imaginary future battle with literal swords and spears (as we are seeing a nuclear Iran - a very far cry from horses, chariots and archers), the Futurist robs herself from the comfort of knowing that God's care is not isolated to a demographic that hates him, has disobeyed the law for thousands of years, and actively works to destroy the Church, but that every generation of those of like faith of Abraham can enjoy the knowledge that the enemies of God (which especially includes those who war against the Church) will, in effect, eat themselves when it seems that the time is most bleak.
I think an excellent picture of a pre-fulfilment of this is found in the narrative of Gideon and the three hundred (a type of the "remnant") in Judges 7.
If you want to believe in a Future cosmic Star Wars intervention that goes against the Gospel and mocks the words of the Prophets, do so at your own loss.
I guess we agree to disagree. If you take a historicist interpretation you do so at your loss. I think the world is about to see real shock and awe as God gets the israelites attention and brings them to the fullness of life in Christ.
Fortunately for both of us thee only view that ultimately matters is relying on the shed blood of Jesus Christ for salvation. I do and presume you do as well so we both have all eternity worship at the feet of Christ regardless of our current view of prophetic scripture.
I can't possibly undertake the task of educating you; I sense more than a few might have given up on that chsllenge, so let me cite a few points by way of illustration. It's marvelous that the once greatest nation on earth now makes it's way to 40th almost exactly tied with Israel, their former slaves.
Another point, more one of reading comprehension, I expressly said nazi Germany. They had a bit of a hard fall. You might have read about it, it was in all the papers.
You're welcome to your own opinion and I offer no mystical cause and effect just a simple observation of the fate of nations that attempt to do away with or marginalize the Jews. The Jews been here awhile and I suspect they will remain. Their oppressive have not done well.
