it sounds like the crowd was full of angry and bitter people - possibly from small towns - who cling to their guns and religion. They might even have antipathy towards others who are different.

You know...typical white folks.
The kind of people who make America a really mean country.

Last night I watched a documentary on the shooting of Ronald Reagan on the History Channel. I couldn’t believe the outright bias there. For instance, the day he got shot he had just given a speech to some Union members. It was a “mediocre” speech and he left to “polite applause”. What the heck did that have to do with him getting shot? Also the media clearly sympathized with John Hinkley.

It’s not that they haven’t learned their lesson, it’s straight up in your face Marxist style propaganda.

They know the media won’t report or downplay it, and the communists are sending a direct message that they will go anywhere or do anything they want, and don’t give a rats ass what white American conservatives think about it.

Officials don’t doubt that some fans may have indeed booed but say the incident is being overblown.

“It didn’t strike our attention at all until we started seeing clips and some over-inflated blogs,” David Higdon, a NASCAR spokesman, said in an interview.

He said that often before races when dignitaries are announced, they get “rounds of applause and sometimes a smattering of boos.”

“It could be anyone from the first lady to a notable athlete or celebrity. There was nothing abnormal,” he said. “We’re disappointed that it got overblown ... but that’s the political climate that we’re in.”

LIARS!!!

You bet your butt they heard it!

******

There’s been some dispute as to how drastic the booing was. ABC News reports that a source who was with Obama said that no one at the event could hear the booing over the “loud chaotic program with jets flying over and tons of noise.”

In a statement to CBSNews.com, White House Communications Director Kristina Shake did not address the booing, but instead focused on how Obama was honored to be at the event. “Mrs. Obama was proud to join NASCAR in recognizing our nation’s veterans and military families to raise awareness of this important issue for all Americans,” Shake said.

Favorite Quotations “To whom much is given, much is required.” (Luke 12:48)

I'm sure Michelle was talking about "taxing the rich" but I don't think that was the meaning of the quote. It refers to the giving of the Spirit and what is required of a Christain.

No excuse for booing Michelle Obama at NASCAR race
By Jay Busbee

NASCAR fans skew conservative. You know that, I know that, politicians know that. An overwhelmingly white fan base, rooted in Southern conservative values (we still have a pre-race prayer, for heaven’s sake) ... it’s no surprise that NASCAR generally tilts right.

Which would be just fine, if that tilt didn’t slide into toxicity. But on Sunday afternoon at Homestead-Miami Speedway, it did.

Moments before one of the greatest races in sports history, certain NASCAR race attendees — I’m not dignifying these cowards with the term “fans” — showed why this sport will always have trouble getting respect from the mainstream of America: they booed the First Lady of the United States.

Inexcusable. Unforgivable. Don’t give me the “free speech” argument. Don’t give me the “Obama sucks” argument. Don’t try anything you can possibly do to rationalize this away. Why? For a very simple reason, one that supersedes both politics and sport:

You don’t boo women.

You don’t. Especially not in NASCAR, which reveres Mother’s Day so much it won’t even schedule races on that day. It’s stunning that we’ve slid this far as a culture that something as simple and profound as respect for wives and mothers is now this cheap.

This is not about politics. This is not about “free speech.” This is about being enough of a man (if you’re a man) and enough of an American, whoever you are, to recognize that we should hold ourselves to some higher standards in our public life. (And this also isn’t about stay-in-the-kitchen sexism. If we can agree to hold open a door for a woman, can’t we agree it’s acceptable not to boo her?)

Not saying ladies should be free from all criticism guys receive- just that there’s a more respectful way of expressing it than boos.

Jay Busbee @jasonwoodmansee Surprisingly, no. And I think it’s because the article focuses more on gender than race. Which says something, I guess.

We don't need our awareness raised when it comes to our military. We have been aware all along while these clowns were living it up on our dime. Please God, sent these clowns packing in 2012.
