Meacham: Obama 'In The Wrong Business, Doesn't Particularly Like People'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 11/22/2011 5:28:10 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

When it comes to the MSM, it's hard to get more mainstream than Jon Meacham. Former Newsweek editor. Current Random House editor. Picked for a Pulitzer Prize.

So when someone of Meacham's genteelly liberal ilk unloads on Barack Obama in such stark terms, it's newsworthy. On today's Morning Joe, Meacham flatly stated his belief that President Obama "doesn't particularly like people and politicians who don't like people are kind of in the wrong business."

Seems like maybe he hit a nerve somewhere in Mr. Ford.

Is he the one who was suspended recently for saying BO was “acting like a d***?”

I’ve been reading “Intellectuals” by Paul Johnson.

“Intellectuals” throughout history tend to be leftists, because their tendency to think that they should run everything runs hand in glove with leftist/communist thought.

Some commenalities of these “intellectuals” of history include
“love of humanity” as a concept, but despite/antipathy for individual humans,
sexual immorality and illegitimacy,
personal financial irresponsibility leading to borrowing without repayment,
and antipathy towards money lenders due to the previous.

That was Mark Halperin back in June.

That was Mark Halperin, but another good example of the phenomenon.

They are turning Obama into the underdog while prepping the battlefield for the drafting of the Hildebeast.

If he doesn’t run for reelection, Hillary will be elevated in the emotional psyche of the left. If he does run, the media will have the “overcome adversity” card to play.

How come ordinary Americans can see this and the Ivy League grads have no clue?

Its not that he doesn’t “like” people. He just feels so superior to them.

I think Mark Halperin and Jon Meacham are the same person. They used to go by the name Michael Kinsley. /s

...politicians who don't like people are kind of in the wrong business.

Not sure I buy this: I think I could stand a politician who didn't like people but did like responsible government. Not that Obama does, of course.

I think he is better suited breaking big rocks into small ones on a chain gang.

BTW this person doesn't like him AT ALL!

Politicians who don’t like people. I can think of a few: Robespierre, Lenin, Stalin, Mao tse Tung, Pol Pot ...... Obama seems to stand in a distinct tradition.

He is, essentially, saying the same thing that Chris Matthews said a few days ago in his rant.

Your description also contains traits commonly found among those possessed of a narcissistic personality disorder. No surprise.
