Democrat criticizes Obama for '4,200 pages' of pending regulations By Joshua Altman - 11/22/11 12:29 PM ET
Former Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln (Ark.) attacked the Obama administration Tuesday for proposing a litany of new regulations she says are hurting the economy.
"Youve got 4,200 pages of pending, new regulations to be put on the books that just create huge uncertainty, Lincoln said.
Lincoln lost her reelection bid last year to Sen. John Boozman (R-Ark.) and is now chairwoman of the Small Businesses for Sensible Regulations campaign at the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
The former two-term senator said in August that the goal of the NFIB campaign is to "encourage the administration to take the opportunity now to look at the ways that you can interject things that will create more efficient and effective regulations."
Republicans on Capitol Hill and on the presidential campaign trail have hammered the White House on regulations, claiming "job-killing" rules are holding back the economic recovery and depressing business investment. House Republicans made a drive to eliminate regulations the centerpiece of their fall jobs campaign.
Despite her push to reduce the number of regulations, Lincoln said she does not support eliminating federal agencies, as some of the Republican presidential candidates have proposed.
This is not a group that is about eliminating agencies or eliminating all regulation. This is a group that understands that clean air and clean water and safety in the workplace are important, but you got to be reasonable about what were doing here in terms of what its costing small businesses and big businesses.
God, please give us relief from this oppressive regime.
Regulations >>>$$$>>> Crony Capitalists
Business owners DO have certainty.
They are certain that the POTUS is outspokenly hostile towards free enterprise, views profits as an evil to be redistributed, and is inherently suspicious of business in general. He even called his time in the private sector as like being among “the enemy”.
Business owners are quite certain of the current climate - which is why they won’t be hiring anyone until this wet blanket is defeated.
“Former Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln (Ark.)”
Because she never said/or did anything about regulation when she was a senator, lying beotch!
Now that she has become a LOBBYIST she changes her tune (again)!
Interesting sidelight - in perusing left-wing publications and websites lately, I have seen a number of common themes being pushed by the Progressive leadership organizations. One of these themes is that government regulations do not truly cost jobs, and business tax rates do not influence either hiring or choice of location.
Apparently, economic "studies" are being used to support these claims and then disseminated to the news media as having come from "non-partisan" think tanks (e.g. - the Economic Policy Institute) , which are of course anything but "non-partisan".
4,200 more communists rules.
Although Arkansans Opposed Obamacare, Lincoln Was The Deciding Vote On The Senate Legislation THREE Times:
Lincoln Voted For Cloture On The Managers Amendment To The Obama-Reid Health Care Legislation In The Senate. (H.R. 3590, CQ Vote #385: Motion agreed to 60-40: R 0-40; D58-0; I 2-0, 12/21/09, Lincoln Voted Yea)

Sixty-Two Percent (62%) Of Arkansas Voters Favor Repeal Of The Health Care Bill, Including 51% Who Strongly Favor It. Only 30% oppose repeal, with 20% who are Strongly Opposed. (Rasmussen Reports, www.rasmussenreports.com, Survey Of 500 Likely Voters, 10/4/10)
As I’ve posted before....law upon law, upon law, upon......
Besides the fact that she hasn't lived in Arkansas in years. She lives in Virginia with her wealthy doctor husband and twin sons (both young environmentalists).
Good point..I tend to agree with you..you don’t hire lobbyists to speak to the choir..you want them to try and win some votes over to your side...so who better than Blanche to try and swing some blue dawgs...
Some how, some where is their is a distant cousin working as a consultant or clerk at the latest green energy company....
HEY! Robo-voter Blanche! Yeah, YOU!
Nice try to change the color of your spots, but WE remember your robo-votes when you were in the Peoples House in the District of Corruption!
You failed us when it counted, so remember that actions then speak louder than words now.
Did Senator Lincoln happen to explain why she voted in favor of those regulations?
So. this Think Tank job is Blanche's reward for selling out the United States taxpayers? This job is her quid pro quo for voting YES on Obamacare despite the screaming NO of her consitituents?
Blanche, go the he[[.
She’s probably just upset that the number isn’t much higher.
This MUST be a misprint./s
She probably lives in the ‘Maryland’ part of Virginia - Arlington.
Three damned times that b!tch could’ve stopped Obamacare in its tracks, but voted against the wishes of the people of Arkansas to serve her Dear Leader anyway.
This idiot helped empower Obama which is why she is an “ex”Senator.
Hopefully Mark “The Dufus” Pryor will follow her.
Senator Lincoln, the person whos spent her whole campaign trying to scare people about Bill Halter being rich and childishly calling him Dollar Bill, has a home worth over 2 million bucks IN VIRGINIA!
Dubious possibility at best. She is a democrat, and democrats are for what furthers the cause of 1) The Party; and 2) Big government.
NOTHING else matters to them.

DUMB is an understatement. Riding daddy’s coattails all these years and still stupid as a rock.
What are "sensible" regulations?
NFIB is living in a pipe dream if they think Berry gives them one ounce of deference. It’s a wonder there’s not more pages of regs.. and no doubt, there’s more to come.
It’s all part of their jobs program, many people will need to be hired to monitor compliance with the new regulations. Left wingers are so smart it is amazing, I would never have thought of such a clever way to open up new jobs.
CLOSED CAPTIONED FOR THE SARCASM IMPAIRED.
You know what? There are still a few Democrats left who haven’t been totally corrupted by the radical Marxist infestation. I know a couple. Each year, though - especially as the WWII generation slowly passes from the scene - there are fewer and fewer.
Congress does not vote on regulations. Regulations are made by department bureaucrats who pretend to be implementing the laws that Congress passes.
So NOW Blanche Lincoln decides that regulations are bad?
Former Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln (Ark.)... lost her reelection bid last year to Sen. John Boozman (R-Ark.) and is now chairwoman of the Small Businesses for Sensible Regulations campaign at the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.
But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.
For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.
~ Marcus Tullius Cicero, Roman Statesman, philosopher and orator (42 B.C)
WTF did they expect? God help us, we have a clueless country.
Want to have a successful business in the democrat world? Then you had better pay to play. Pay huge amounts and they may even take out your competition.
they wouldn’t complain if Obama was doing well in the polls .. they didn’t complain about Obamacare did they?
Gee Blanche, you are quite the irony bitch aren't you? Did you think of "Sensible Regulation" when you were senator?
LOL! Love it! Thanks!
There are close to 80 000 pages of regulations pertaining to charging for Medicare services.
Tens of thousands of people are employed to monitor compliance.
4200 pages is nothing.
