Cain and Women
National Review Online ^ | 11/22/11 | Robert Costa

In 1983, Eva Vachal, then 24 years old, was hired by Godfather’s Pizza. She began in the information-technology department. By 1986, when Herman Cain became president of the company, she was the corporate receptionist.

For the next decade — Cain’s entire tenure at the Omaha-based firm — she continued in that position, answering phones and assisting executives with various projects.

Hey Chuckie,

Remember Herman’s reference to the 2x4 awakening he had with respect to reality? With your twisted 8% pretzel logic maybe you are in need of a little realignment yourself.

What is it about “she does not believe them” that just does not compute with you?

It was a hit piece. You can tell now because it's fading fast. They couldn't dig up anymore than they had, but it achieved the desired effect, and Gloria has to go back to her day job. Next course, fillet of Newt.

Charles in CT, misinterpret huh? Kind of like when Clinton said, “I did not have sex with that woman”, but apparently his interpretation of oral sex meant it wasn’t sex. Yeah, I see your point of view (now pulling my head back out of the back end).

Why? What about that picture holds up to your statement that every secretary would want him as a boss? His tie?

There's so much more Cain could do to deal with this stuff, mainly by going directly to the American people and stating his case and challenging these accusers to either prove their allegations or shut up. (Tell what he knows specifically or what he can't know because the accusers have failed to disclose specific dates, times, etc.) SAY IT. TELL the American people, the media, and these accusers all at the same time.

It doesn't help to wait for a media event and complain about being "tried in the court of public opinion." That goes NOWHERE. Come on, this is an election which itself is a trial by public opinion.

Mr. Cain needs to take better advantage of the golden opportunity to spend the bucks to go on national TV and begin a DIRECT dialogue with the American people, not through media events or some other buffer. Not majoring on this negative stuff (don't avoid it either) but take the offense and have "getting to know you" sessions with the American people, focusing who he is (a basic nice guy) and EXPLAINING what he wants to do (not, "I've got a plan, look it up if you have any questions"). We've been waiting for that since Reagan.

Mr. Cain you can do it. Are you listening?

You’re not concerned about the $30MM he authorized in bonuses for 5 execs only 30 days before 500 employees were fired?

He was Chairman of the compensation committee for Aquila, Inc which was a partner company of Enron. Company was run into the ground...see pg 83 of class action for confirmation of “slam” as you referenced it. I’m sure the employees would agree that they were slammed as well.

He was chairman of the compensation committee for Aquila (page 1). Named in class action/

To: manic4organic; y'all

Ignore the trolls.

This is a positive piece about Herman Cain. Anyone with eyes can see that.

There are a few posters on FR who can’t stand to let any positive press for Cain to go (endlessly) unanswered.

They will try their hardest to derail such a thread and tie other posters up in knots trying to counter their sophistry. Heck, I watched as one of these guys stayed up for nearly 6 hours in the middle of the night/early morning, making post after post on a live debate thread, just to derail some small positive opinion Mr. Cain gained after a good performance.

Who knows what motivates such OCD behavior? Who cares? The less you reply to them, the better.

Mother Jones, There's a trusted site!

Bonuses are frequently part of executive compensation contracts, and not something decided upon as some sort of whim. Your 500 employees may well have been deadwood and the stockholders could have benefited nicely by pitching them. Cain's resume is one that says "success" to me. I like him.

How many people on this page do you think donated money to Cain? I DID!!! Don’t go calling me a troll when I put my money where my mouth is. Most of you, likely, haven’t done the same.

So you post an article from Mother Jones and a YouTube post from some literal nobody and call that an argument?

That's what the left does.

Disprove the legal action Buck, and I’ll listen. I’m wondering why it’s never been mentioned by Herman. That’s the real issue. We don’t need another Obama with the secretive past.

You obviously didn't read from the link that was posted.

I've been named in a couple of lawsuits in my life, too. It was all garbage, and I walked (all of us did; they were work related).

All Herman has to do is tell the good folks what happened...and I did read the whole article you posted. I’d like to get hold of the Atlanta Constitution article that maybe could bridge our “argument”, although I don’t see it as an argument.

If you’ve hired people in business before and they omit an employer on their job application, they’re subject to termination.

Clear the air now instead of later.

I don’t believe a word of those allegations either but its still having an effect on Herman’s campaign. I wish Hannity or someone would have her on their show one night.
