A report Thursday said that Russia has supplied Syria with advanced S-300 missiles, and has sent advisers to help Syria run the system.

Russian warships that have reached waters off Syria in recent days were carrying, among other things, Russian technical advisors who will help the Syrians set up an array of S-300 missiles Damascus has received in recent weeks, a report in the London-based Arabic language Al Quds-Al Arabi said Thursday. Citing sources in Syria and Russia, the paper said that Moscow sees a Western attack on Syria as a "red line" that it will not tolerate.

This may be why Israel is preparing to go operational against Iran sooner rather than later.

Once these anti-aircraft missiles are ready, Israel would have a tough time carrying out an operation against Iran without help from the US (we can probably jam these)....help we all know they will not get from the Obama Administration (except maybe in October 2012).

That’s what “the experts” said about the last super-duper Russian air defense system installed in Syria.

Remember that Syrian nuke site the IDF-AF took out? First they blinded the super duper Russian SAM system.

God willing, the IDF will always have the edge in EW.

When it comes to a choice of supporting freedom or slavery the Russians always opt for slavery.

Israel will just have to utilize a delivery system that thwarts the new Iranian missiles.

Didn't Israel already go halfway into Syria, undetected, and dropped a few bombs while Syria was using Russian-supplied defense systems? If I was Syria, I'd be skeptical of just how safe the Russians are alleging they will be.

How about the other members of the anti Iran alliance?

The Saudi and Qatari air forces will be tasked with the taking out of the Iranian missile defense under the direction of Saudi AWACS

Israel has hacked the S-300 already. The Russians know this. The hack can make one Israeli fighter jet look like fifty. The S-300 launches all its missiles at phantoms. Then the real attack comes.

That's quite a scoop. Do you have any recollection of where you read this?

Syria has ignored the “deadline” set by the Arab League for observers on the ground. I would look for some kind of Arab League/Turkish sponsored UN resolution to be tabled next week that may pave the way for a NFZ/buffer zone
